How many colors of jade are there? Become a jade expert instantly after watching it

As the saying goes, "There are thousands of kinds of agate and tens of thousands of kinds of jade." Common colors of jade include white, green, purple, yellow, red, black, etc. Among them, green is the best color. If a piece of jade has green, red and violet, it is also a very rare jade.

White Series

Color: Colorless, available in any texture

Purple Series

Purple jade is also called violet. Generally, the color is lighter, and dark purple is rare. Usually the better color of purple jade is bluish purple. The lighter color of purple jade is pink-purple. Purple jade of ice grade or above is rare, and the color is very light under natural light. Those with a coarser texture can be called purple beans. Purple jadeite with deep purple color, fine texture and high transparency is difficult to find. When purchasing violets, you need to be aware that purple jade, generally when viewed under yellow light, will appear more purple and brighter in color. The following emerald purple is divided into the following categories:

1

Blue Purple

Color: bluish, purple with a blue tint. The color concentration is relatively darker than pink purple and eggplant purple. The color is generally unevenly distributed and darker. There are fewer fine particles. Most are opaque to translucent, with poor water head. There are also a small amount of ice-type jade with a blue-purple texture, which is not common on the market. The granular structure is obvious and the grains are coarse, so the emerald green color is obvious and most of them have a bean-like bottom.

2

Pink Purple

Color: The color is purple with pink, sometimes there are more pink tones than purple tones, the color is lighter, and the water quality is generally better. Compared with other purple jades, the color distribution is more even, and it is a high-end purple on the market. It is generally transparent or translucent, with the characteristics of ice bottom, and has better light transmittance than other types of purple. The grains are relatively fine and the boundaries between the grains are not very obvious. The most common types are ice and ice glutinous. There are fewer structures and the bottom is cleaner. Natural light is extremely light in color.

3

Eggplant Purple

Color: Purple emerald with grey tones. The color distribution is relatively even, but the depth is inconsistent, the color is darker and bluish. Good light transmittance is often a characteristic of the bottom of the ice. The texture is fine-grained, fine-grained to medium-grained, with a fibrous and granular interwoven structure. It contains fine pinpoint and fibrous gray inclusions, which may be the reason for the darkening and grayish color of this purple jade.

4

Purple

Purple-green (Spring Color) color: Irregularly distributed green in a purple base, named after its color. There is a saying in the industry that "it is difficult to produce high-quality green on a lotus root powder base." Generally, the green in this kind of light purple base is usually lighter, and the purple is also lighter. The texture is slightly transparent or opaque.

Green Series Jade

Full color series

1

Old pit species

Color: It has a certain concentration, the color is deep but rich but not gaudy, the color is bright and pure, and the uniformity is good. It meets the requirements of “normal”, “strong”, “fresh” and “balanced”.

2

Dry Blue

Color: Almost full green. The green color is dense and dark, some shades are evenly distributed, and some are not so evenly distributed. The inclusions often have some black spots. The light transmittance is relatively poor, almost opaque. The structure is coarse and the base is dry.

3

Tielongsheng

Color: Full green, generally brighter green with varying shades. Both color and type are better than dry blue. It is composed of chromium-containing jadeite, and "Tielongsheng" means full green in Burmese. It contains fewer black spots than the dry blue variety and often has white flowers.

4

Melon skin oil green

Color: The color is impure green, with gray or blue, so it is not bright enough, darker and dull, and its color can vary from dark to light.

5

Hibiscus species

Color: Generally light green, relatively pure color, evenly distributed without blue. The color is not strong enough, but it is clear. It is translucent, close to ice type. Although it is not very transparent, it is not dry either. The texture is finer than that of soybean seeds, and the structure makes people feel granular, but the boundaries between the grains cannot be seen.

6

Green beans (ice beans, colored beans, sweet beans, cat beans)

Color: Typical mung bean color, light in color, yellowish, and appears in large patches. It generally has poor light transmittance, a coarse structure, clear boundaries, and is bean-shaped, hence the name. The ones with good light transmittance are called ice beans.

Dissatisfaction color series

1

Floating flower species

Color: Jadeite with green dots distributed on a light-colored base is called floating flower jade. There are two types of floating flowers: floating blue flowers and floating green flowers. The floating flower area is less than 40%.

2

Gold thread

Color: Green is distributed in parallel strands, appearing intermittently along a certain direction, and the stripes can be thick or thin. The quality of golden-thread jadeite depends on the color of the green stripes, the proportion of the green stripes, and the coarseness of the texture.

3

Flower blue species

Color: The green is unevenly distributed and very irregular, and can be bright or dark. The base color may be light green or other colors. Definition: All jadeite with irregular color distribution, uneven green distribution, and green part > 40% can be collectively called the "huaqing" variety.

4

White background blue

Color: The green color with white background is usually brighter, and the base color is whiter or the green and white are more distinct. Most of the green parts appear in clumps. The bright green block contains a high amount of chromium, so the color of the white-based green variety is extremely bright and vivid. Most of them are opaque and coarse in texture, often with a medium to coarse granular structure, but the green part is finer, with a medium to fine granular structure.

Black Series Jade

Dark grey to dark green jadeite

1

Black-bone chicken species (landscape painting species)

Color: Gray-black - Dark gray jade is named because it has a black base with white spots, resembling the skin of a black chicken. The color tone is generally uneven, with some black jade having gray-green tones to varying degrees, and the green tones in the lighter parts being more obvious.

Under transmitted light, it appears dark green, and the green color varies from light green to dark green. The light transmittance is sub-transparent to semi-transparent, with a certain water head.

3

Black dry blue

Color: dark green, black is more uniform. The green color is still visible in thinner sections or under strong reflected light. The light transmittance is poor, it is basically opaque, and can appear slightly transparent in extremely thin areas. The structural particles are coarse and a granular mosaic structure can be seen.
