[Knowledge] Don’t let your jade lose water!

Many girls have a lot of jewelry, so they choose and wear them according to the clothes and occasions. Some jade jewelry may not be worn many times a year. "People nurture jade, and jade nurtures people." Jade will only become better if it is nurtured by people. If you don't wear jade for a long time, it will dry out. Today I will introduce to you how to maintain the water head of jadeite that is not worn for a long time:

Avoid sunlight

If jade is not worn for a long time, it will definitely be left idle. At this time, we should not take it lightly and think that we can just put it somewhere. Many female friends just put it naked on the dressing table. In fact, this approach is not feasible.

The dressing table is usually placed in a sunny location in the room, so that you can clearly see the condition of your skin and create a delicate makeup. However, if you place jadeite on it casually, the direct sunlight will cause the jadeite to lose moisture, increase its volume, and easily deform, affecting its appearance.

The correct approach: Place the jade in a separate box and find a cool place to put it, such as inside a closet. This not only avoids sunlight, but also prevents the jade from being accidentally scratched by other jewelry.

Artificial water replenishment

Even if you have done the first step of placing it correctly, everything is not fine! We place jade in a cool place, but we must not forget daily hydration and maintenance, especially in autumn and winter. Dry air can also cause jade to lose moisture, causing it to lose its luster and become dry. To keep the jade moist and translucent, you can place a cup of clean water next to the jade to maintain the air humidity. Or you can soak the jade in pure water every once in a while, for about 3 hours, but not too long. Then wipe it clean with a soft, clean cloth, apply a layer of vegetable oil or other lubricating products, let it sit for a few hours, then rinse it clean, wipe it dry and store it.

Waxing maintenance

To maintain the moisture of jadeite, waxing is a better method. You can take the jade to a physical store to have it waxed, or you can do it yourself at home. In fact, the method is not difficult. If you do it yourself, after cleaning the jade, use a soft brush such as a toothbrush or a brush to dip in liquid wax and apply it evenly on the surface of the jade. When brushing, try to go slower, lighter, and more evenly to ensure that the entire jade can be coated. Once the wax is dry, polish with a soft cloth and you’re done. After all, the best way to maintain jade is to wear it for a long time, so that the jade can become more transparent and lustrous by relying on the constant temperature of the human body and natural oils.
