Light transmittance refers to the depth to which light penetrates into jade. If jadeite allows a lot of light to pass through, it will appear "watery", which is the so-called "watery" feeling. If the light cannot penetrate the interior of the jade, the jade will appear very "dull", which is the so-called dryness. The light transmittance of jadeite types decreases from high to low: glass, ice, glutinous, bean, etc. All good jade is usually glass or ice type.

4. The standard of good jadeite - the coarseness and fineness of its texture

Texture refers to the fineness of the crystal grain size within the jade's internal structure and the density between the crystals. The internal structure of jade directly determines its light transmittance. The finer the texture of jade, the stronger its reflectivity will be after polishing, making it appear more "rigid". So it looks very beautiful!

The outline determines whether the finished jade product looks good or not; the symmetry of jade refers to whether the jade is skewed up and down or left and right; the length-to-width ratio has a great influence on the outline, and the size of the raw material will affect the final effect of the carving; the thickness reflects the size of the jade, and thin jade has a lower price; the curvature refers to the fluidity and flexibility of the jade lines. 6. The standard of good jadeite - the clarity of jadeite

The clarity of jade is the amount of flaws inside the jade. The relationship between jade clarity and value mainly considers whether the defects affect the beauty and durability of jade. The obviousness of the flaws includes color, shape, location and size, and their impact on the overall appearance of the jade.
