When we first come into contact with and learn about jade, we often hear terms such as A-grade, B-grade, C-grade, etc. Some people don’t understand and think they are all fakes. This is because in other fields, A, B, and C-grades are opposite to the genuine products. They are imitations, or fakes. However, in the field of jade, the meanings are different. This issue will share with you their specific meanings and differences. Grade A JadeGrade A jadeite refers to natural jadeite. Apart from the physical changes such as cutting, grinding and polishing, this type of jadeite has not undergone any artificial processing. Its composition, color, transparency and texture are all natural. It is real jadeite. When natural jade is observed under magnification, it will have yellow, black, and brown impurities inside. It has a pure glass luster and natural layered colors. Jade has a high density and feels heavy in the hand; it is not light. When observed through a magnifying glass, the surface can be seen to have smooth raised and sunken orange peel texture. B-Grade Jade B-grade jadeite refers to jadeite that has been injected with glue. This type of jadeite is soaked in strong acid, and then epoxy resin (crystal glue) is added to fill the cracks and remove the flaws and colors inside the jadeite to increase its transparency and make the jadeite look more watery, in order to impersonate high-end, high-quality jadeite. The internal structure of this kind of jade treated with chemicals has been destroyed. Although it looks watery and free of impurities, its luster is obviously dull and dull, showing a resinous texture and waxy luster. If you zoom in and observe the surface carefully, you will find traces of strong acid corrosion and continuous web-like acid etching patterns, commonly known as "spider webs." Although the appearance of this kind of jade may indeed appear to be of a higher grade and sell better in the short term, after a period of time, the color, transparency, and gloss of the jade will gradually decline and become dull. C-Grade JadeC-grade jadeite refers to jadeite that has been dyed. The seemingly bright colors of this kind of jadeite are actually artificially colored. After the dye is injected into this kind of jade, the pigment only exists between the cracks of the jade, distributed in a network-like manner, with no color roots. Using a magnifying glass, obvious color accumulation and dye precipitation can be seen. There is no obvious transition or natural boundary between the colors, but a blurred smudge. The colors on the surface appear exaggerated and unnatural, and over time, they will change color and fade. B+C GoodsThis kind of jade has been treated with both glue injection and dyeing, so that its transparency and color have reached the level of high-end jade. The B+C goods on the market are mainly dyed green. The structure of this kind of jade is more seriously damaged, and the flaws are more obvious. Obvious large acid etching marks can be seen on the surface. The color is divergent, there is no color root, the luster is weak, and it appears whitish and foggy. D-Grade Jade It is a completely fake jade, which is imitated by other types of materials. The ingredients may be synthetic glass, crystal, quartz, as well as the common Malayan jade and Australian jade on the market, etc. Long-term wearing of jadeite that has been treated with chemicals will have serious effects on the body. Therefore, we must keep our eyes open during the purchasing process and never be greedy for small profits and choose to buy natural jadeite to wear. fcgc66 fcpf18 |
