If you want to become a jade expert, you must understand the top ten jade mining areas!

There is a famous saying in the jade industry, which is " If you don't know the site, you can't play with the raw stones ." The reason why it is called Changkou is because the source of the jadeite raw stone is Myanmar. In Myanmar, the jadeite producing area is also called Changkou, mining area or Changqu.

The reason why the raw stone is difficult to understand is mainly because there are many mining areas, and the materials from each mining area have their own characteristics. Let's take a look at the ten most famous places in Myanmar.

1. Phakant

Hpakant jade has long been famous for its good quality, good base and good color. It is mainly divided into mountain stone and water stone. Half mountain and half water stone is rare. Black sand is the best mountain stone, followed by yellow salt sand stone and white salt sand stone. They are evenly distributed, fine-grained and have a strong hand feel. Water stone has a thin skin and most of them feel transparent. But no matter mountain rocks or water rocks, there are pine flowers on Phakant Peak. The bottom water is mostly good, with less dry bottom and wood bottom. There are yellow fog and white fog layers. Once there is color, the color grade is relatively high.

The green color of Hpakant jade is medium to above. Most of the old Hpakant stones are black sandy skin, as black as lacquer. Its main characteristics are white spots, transparent bottom, and pure green color. Once there are flowers, colored ribbons, and white mist, the base must be good and the color is good.

2. Moshisha Mine

The Moshisha jade mine is famous for producing the finest glass-type jade, but now that the mine has dug to the bottom layer, most of the jade is black-skinned stone. However, the glass-type jade produced from the black-skinned stone in the bottom layer is also quite top-grade.

Since most of the jadeite produced from the Moshisha jade mine has a glass bottom, there are generally very few colored ones. But once they are colored, they are extremely rare fine products.

3. Mowanji Mine

Movangki is located on both sides of the Movang River tributaries northeast of the Phakant site. The jadeite sand mines mined here are all from the highland gravel layer, which is cut by the river and is about 100 meters deep. Therefore, the cut gravel layer profile can be seen on both sides. The gravel layer is divided into two layers from top to bottom. The upper layer is the red layer and the yellow layer, and the lower layer is the gray to black layer, which is semi-cemented and contains green schist and mica schist.

Jade gravel often has a wax shell, and the gravel is semi-round to sub-angular. Most of them are black gauze materials with thick skin, which is as black as black paint, and there is fog under the skin (many black-skinned stones in the market have no fog, they are new field stones). Python has white fog and pine flowers. Generally, it is of good quality, with high green, and small pieces will have full green.

4. Malaysia Cutting Ground

The raw stones from Damakan are mostly famous for being half mountain and half water, followed by water stones. The block crust is generally thick and often appears honeycomb-shaped, with colors such as brown, yellowish yellow, and gray, and rarely has a waxy shell. Almost all of them have a fog layer, the color level is generally higher, and the color is blue. The main characteristics are color streaking through the skin, fog streaking through the skin, color wrapped in fog, and color eaten by fog, making it difficult to distinguish between the skin and the flesh.

This kind of stone, half mountain and half water, has a yellow shell and yellow fog and a thin skin, and is highly worth gambling on. If the skin is thick and foggy black, you cannot gamble on it. The bottom will be gray and the water will be short, the green color will often be bluish, and it will have no rebound power. Although the color can be seen in the water stone part, it does not penetrate into the inside. The color of the Damakan original stone part is visible inside, and the colors are generally not connected.

5. Meeting card site

Huika raw stone mine is famous for its waxy skin. The yield of old Huika jade raw stones is quite high. If they are colored, they can generally be of the color needed for ring faces. Most of the good ring faces will have more Huika raw stones. The jade skin produced is of various colors, mainly gray-green and gray-black, with varying degrees of transparency and uneven distribution of water bottom, but the water is often better in places with green.

Many Huika raw stones have lost their sand, with a light red wax shell on the skin, and the inner layer of sand skin is mostly water-turned skin or chicken skin sand. The blocks are lobbying everywhere, and the water at the bottom is short. On the bottom seal with short water, there is often high green or full green.

Nowadays, the number of colored jadeite raw stones produced in Huika mine is decreasing day by day. Most of them are white in color. Due to their good completeness, they are also sought after by many jadeite lovers.

6. Muna Field

Most of the Mu Na jade has white skin, and some have a little red skin. If there is white mist, the jade meat will definitely be of good quality after cutting. Muna field is famous for its white salt sand and arrowhead bark.

Most of the jadeite rough stones from the Mu Na mine are clear water, blue water, and white base with floating color flowers, and cotton is rarely seen. If they are excellent, they can be considered top-quality.

Because the jadeite raw stones from the Mu Na mine are easy to increase in value, they are sought after by many jade lovers. However, some jade lovers find it difficult to distinguish the authenticity of the jadeite skin.

7. Houjiangchangkou

The old materials from the Houjiang jadeite raw stone mine come from the bottom of the alluvial layer in the mine, also known as Kandi jade. The bottom of the Houjiang mine is generally good and highly transparent. Green jadeite with good bottom and good water is common, while green jadeite with poor bottom and water is bluish.

The wax shell of the middle and upper layers is relatively complete, but the stone quality is poor, and the color will fade after grinding; the wax shell of the middle and lower layers is incomplete, but the stone quality is better. There is a saying that "nine out of ten stones have water", and the color will generally increase by more than one point after grinding. This is the clear difference between old varieties and young varieties.

The main characteristics of Houjiang field are thin skin with waxy shell and no fog; the bottom water is generally good, with more green, often producing full green and high emerald, with less fog and cracks. The finished products have better color and good processing performance, making them ideal materials for making ring faces.

8. Martha Field

The Masha jadeite raw stone field is located on the hillside on the west side of Longken Mountain. It is a secondary deposit developed in the residual slope accumulation layer. The Masa field is also written as Masa field. It was mined after 1980. It belongs to the new factory jade, with no skin or little skin, fine meat, spring and bean colors, etc. The disadvantages are many cracks, lighter green, good and bad water and bottom. It is mainly used as low-grade bracelet material or large white reduced material.

9. Nanqichangkou

The Mohan Jade Field is usually called the Nanqi Field, and the jade produced there is also called the Nanqi Stone. Because the mine is small in scale, the jade pieces are small, and the amount of jade produced is relatively small, it is called a small mine. But the quality of the jade is relatively good, especially the color of Nanqi jade can often be reversed, and it is the best color among all the mines.

If they are the same color, Huika stone can turn into one color, Houjiang stone can turn into two colors, and Nanqi stone can turn into three colors. This is why Nanqi Stone is generally favored by experts.

Nanqi jade has skin and fog. There are sand shells of various colors, and they are generally thin, while the fog is mostly white. Among them, the best is the water-turned sand jade with thin skin and light white mist, which is old and has delicate texture.

10. Geyingjiaochangkou

The material of Geyingjiao has fewer variations, but color changes are common. Depending on the different mineral layers, the probability of high water quality is higher, generally between glutinous and glutinous ice. The production of pigments is also large.

Moreover, for materials with corners, color gradient is more common. The outer layer has better color, and the color changes appear more towards the middle and on both sides. Therefore, the glue, skin structure, and sand turning effect are very important.
