There are so many kinds of jadeite on the market that it is really hard to tell the real from the fake. One of the most effective ways to identify the authenticity of jadeite is to ask the seller to issue a jadeite appraisal certificate issued by a nationally recognized organization. When consumers buy mid- to high-end jade jewelry, they should ask the merchant whether the jewelry they buy has an appraisal certificate. If there is an appraisal certificate, they should check whether there is a "CMA", "CAL" or "CNAL" mark on the certificate. In addition, they need to check:

CMA——is a comprehensive certification and evaluation of the testing capabilities and reliability of testing institutions by the metrology administrative departments of the people's governments at or above the provincial level in accordance with the provisions of the Metrology Law of the People's Republic of China. Absorption spectrum: 437nm absorption line (a unique absorption spectrum of jadeite);

Optical property: aggregate (jade is an aggregate of micro-minerals);

Fluorescence: None (some B-grade products will have a fluorescent reaction after injection);

Appearance characteristics: glassy luster (some B-goods will have a waxy luster).

After calling or logging on to the relevant website, you can review the certificate according to the certificate test number. One thing to note is that not all businesses issue certificates in advance. Instead, consumers get them from testing agencies only after they confirm their purchase. So sometimes when consumers go home and check the Internet, they find that the certificate information of the experiment number they checked is not available on the Internet. They think they have been cheated. In fact, it is not necessarily the case, because the newly issued certificate information has not been uploaded to the website. You must know that it takes some time for the testing agency to upload it to the website. It is normal that it cannot be found within two or three days.
