Friends who love jade have all heard the sayings that jade cannot be made into a useful object without being carved, and that three parts are the material and seven parts are the workmanship. It can be seen that for jade, although the material itself is rare, it is difficult to give jade artistry and vitality without good creativity and carving. For ordinary consumers, buying jade is more about appearance. What attracts consumers to make a purchase is not only the charm of the jade itself, but more importantly, the exquisite carving that embodies the meaning and cultural connotation. Today I will use the gorgeous transformation process of a piece of jade raw stone to tell you the importance of creativity and carving in the jade industry. Look at this rough stone. It has purple and green colors, and the quality is very average. It is not a very good jade rough material. If we could produce a bracelet with spring colors, the owner would probably wake up laughing in his dreams. But the size of this raw stone is not big enough and not wide enough to make a bracelet. Moreover, the biggest problem with this raw stone is its uneven thickness. The purple part is up to 1.5 cm thick, while the thickest part with green is up to 4.5 cm. This made the owner feel conflicted. If he had to make a small full-mouth bracelet, the waste of material would be too great. At this time, someone gave the owner a suggestion, saying that he might as well produce two spring-colored brands. However, this piece of clear material can be used to make two spring-colored brands. But the biggest problem is the uneven thickness. The brand has to be wedge-shaped, thin on the top and thick on the bottom. Today, consumers' economic strength has greatly improved, and they pay more attention to the integrity of the jade shape. It is unrealistic to produce square tiles, as no one will like square tiles of varying thicknesses. Trapezoidal tiles will also appear unrefined and fail to maximize the value of this piece of material. The cargo owner couldn't make up his mind for a moment and didn't know what to do. In order to better reflect the value of this jade, the owner invited jade carving master Wu Jianguang through a friend's introduction. After Master Wu Jianguang saw this material. Through jade appraisal, a suggestion was given, which is to make an ornament, with the thin purple part making the image of Guanyin and the green part making auspicious clouds. Guanyin sits on auspicious clouds. Fully utilize the colorful purple and green parts of this jade. The remaining part can also be carved into small pendants. The owner absolutely believed in the master's level and decided to carve the jade according to the master's ideas. A month passed in a flash, and Teacher Wu also completed this jade work named Ci Du. Then he sent me pictures of the raw stone and the finished product. The green color of the finished product appears more uniform and more vivid than that of the original stone before carving. It turns out that the green color on both sides of this jade is different in depth, one side is lighter and the other side is darker. Therefore, when Mr. Wu was carving, he cleverly used optical principles and carved the lighter green side into the front of the ornament, and the darker green side into the back of the ornament. When people see this ornament, the optical effect can bring out the darker green color at the back, and combined with the green color of the front, it makes it appear even greener than before. If there was no such design, and the darker green side was regarded as the front, the green on the back would not be highlighted, and it would just be the green of the front itself. It is truly ingenious. When the finished product came out, it far exceeded everyone's expectations, not to mention the small pendants and other things made from the scraps. It can be said that the price has increased significantly. If they had made brands at that time, how many brands could be made from such a large amount of material? According to the common practice, three brands could be made, but it is unknown whether the value of one brand could reach five thousand. If I ask a master to design it and make two big ones, it would probably cost about the same as a small fiver. But through the meticulous refinement of Teacher Wu Jianguang, he turned decay into magic and used his superb skills to bring everyone this exquisite work of art called Ci Du. Its value cannot be measured by the price of a few brand names. Through careful carving, such ordinary jade rough material is transformed into a fine work of art. It can be seen that there are many good horses, but there are few good horse trainers. Good jade also needs good carvers to carefully polish it through jade identification, so that culture and art can be fully displayed with jade as the carrier, bringing spiritual enjoyment to people!
