Terminology and standards for evaluating and purchasing jadeite

1. Color evaluation: Bright and uniform

Positive: positive green, slightly yellowish green, with blue-green, with yellowish green, slightly grayish green, with grayish green; (it is easy to cause visual errors under yellow light: good color, high saturation) Please refer to sunlight. It's a little darker under white light. Reflected light is used as the reference, not transmitted light.

Thick: The color is based on pure thick green ink as 100%, and diluted proportionally, 70-80% concentration is the best.

Yang: The brightness of the color. The brighter the color is under standard light source, the better.

Uniform: The more uniform the color, the better. For example, if the color of a bracelet accounts for 20%, if the 20% is very concentrated, the price will be higher than if it is very dispersed.

2. Light transmittance: Good planting hides three uglinesses ① Makes dark colors not appear dark
(For reference only: glass > sub-glass > ice > sub-ice > foundation > = glutinous > bean > = porcelain > dry)
② Uneven colors complement each other to make them appear even ③ Make the texture appear delicate

3. Structure: Texture: ①0.1mm, very hard to see particles with naked eyes ②0.1-0.4, hard to see with naked eyes ③0.5-1, visible with naked eyes ④1.1-1.5, easily visible with naked eyes ⑤1.6-2, obviously visible with naked eyes ⑥>2mm, particles are very obvious

4. Carving: When evaluating, of the same color, type and quality, the plain product of "Bowu Youdao" is more valuable than the carved flower pieces.
Evaluation: 1) Clear outline and good appearance.
2) Check whether there is any skewness left to right or up to down, that is, whether it is symmetrical.
3) The length-to-width ratio of the finished product plays a very important role in the "appearance" of the finished product.
4) Thickness: The thickness of the bare body is very important and directly affects the value.

5. Clarity:

6. Cracks No cracks No cracks Healed cracks on the edges Many healed cracks A few cracks on the edges Easily visible to light Some crack levels No cracks Micro cracks Visible cracks Difficult to see Cracks Easily visible to the naked eye Cracks are easily visible to the naked eye (cracks are easily visible to the naked eye)

7. Size: The bigger the size, the higher the price. 8. Carvings affect value: "Bowu Youdao" means that a bracelet with carvings is not as valuable as an uncarved bracelet of the same kind, which can cover up cracks.
