When purchasing jadeite, we usually do not recommend buying jadeite that is too thin. Firstly, the structure of the jade has been destroyed and is easy to break. Secondly, there is basically no storage space. So, what about the other way around? Is it true that the thicker the jade, the better? First of all, theoretically speaking, when only thickness is a single variable, that is, color, type, water, workmanship and perfection remain completely consistent, the thicker the jade is, the more valuable it will be, the larger the collection space will be, and it will be less fragile. In other words, if the thickness is simply large, and there are more or less differences in other factors, then the quality of the jade needs to be analyzed specifically. For example, a piece of thick glutinous jade is definitely not as valuable as an ice jade of normal thickness. By the way, the normal thickness of jadeite is usually between 4-10mm, the inlaid one can be as low as 3mm, and the delicate and small earrings can be around 2mm. As for bracelets, the industry generally calls those with a thickness of more than 8mm and a weight of more than 60g thick. The standard thickness of the ring face is 3mm, and those exceeding 3mm are mostly thick. Of course, whether it is normal thickness or thick jadeite, it is basically summarized based on the beauty and comfort of wearing. There is a certain degree of control, which does not mean that the thicker the better. For example, women with petite figures and slender wrists are not suitable for wearing jade bracelets and pendants that are too thick. Not only do they look unsophisticated, but they may also appear clumsy, cumbersome, and not delicate enough. In a word, everything has its limits. It does not mean that the thicker the jade, the better. It still needs to be considered in combination with value measurement factors such as color, type, water, and aesthetics.
