My friend threw away the jadeite, took it back to me for carving, and asked me to return the finished product to him.

My friend threw away the jadeite, took it back to me for carving, and asked me to return the finished product to him.

A friend bought a piece of jade raw material, which had been broken down. He took the good parts for processing, but he didn't like this piece and just threw it on the table. I asked him for it, and he generously gave it to me. After I got it, I looked at it carefully. I wanted to carve a Buddhist theme plaque, so I took it to discuss with the processing master.

The final decision is the one shown in the picture below. The master made the most of the green. In Chinese tradition, yellow represents dignity, wealth and auspiciousness, and green represents life, vitality and aura. The only gemstone that can blend these two colors into one piece of jade is jadeite. At the same time, as far as the naming of jadeite is concerned, it is also a combination of emerald green and jadeite yellow-red. A piece of jade with both yellow and green colors is generally called "yellow and green" in the industry.

The editor will take everyone to be a "Buddhist" stone-watcher:

Neither sad nor happy, the heart is as calm as still water

Don't be impatient, let everything go with the flow

Being able to endure loneliness and not rushing for quick results are the hallmarks of a "Buddhist" jade carver. There is never a shortcut when it comes to hand carving, especially from design to carving, which requires a long period of patience.

No standards, just do what you want

It depends on rapport and feeling. Such friends can be said to be very "Buddhist".

Among the numerous jade lovers and players, there are some people who do not have strict requirements on the quality of jade, and do not care about imperial green or Yang green. As long as they like it, they will buy it.

Yellow-green is a very rare variety of jade because it must have both primary green and secondary yellow, which makes it more difficult to form and rarer than single green jade. The market performance further confirms this point, so the editor has picked up a treasure!

The editor tells you: The reason why yellow and green jadeite is precious is not only because of its rarity, but more importantly, it is also highly ornamental. The simultaneous existence of yellow and green colors in a piece of jade material gives carving masters more room for imagination and creativity. The carefully designed and carved yellow and green color combination works have bright colors and strong contrast, which is endlessly interesting.
