Many people buy jade in this way

The first stage of buying jade for newcomers is "blind men touching an elephant"

The first question to be asked is: "Is this true or false?

Is it A-grade or B-grade?

Is the color emerald green?

When they look at jade bracelets worth tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, they just think that they are not as good as those in the advertisements, but they are still able to accept them.

Question: "This bracelet probably costs several hundred or a thousand dollars, right?" This process takes many people several years to get a little bit of the hang of.

The second stage is high expectations but low performance

Paying for jadeite does not mainly mean buying fakes, but buying the real thing.

After buying a lot of cheap goods, I finally realized a very simple truth: use the money you would have spent on 10 or 20 cheap goods to buy only one or two, as these are the things that can “maintain and increase their value.”

Phase 3 Buying Highlights

Jadeite also requires "seeing countless jades" before you can understand within what price range to buy the most cost-effective item. This is called buying within your means and purchasing highlights.

The most taboo thing about jade is the pursuit of "perfection", perfect material, perfect carving, favorite subject matter, and excellent color. Only 2% of the super rich can afford these "imperial-level" jade and white jade.

What is a “highlight”?

The jargon goes "It is better to buy absolutely than to buy incomplete."

Or pursue "unique craftsmanship".

Or pursue "unique stuff".

Or pursue "absolutely beautiful color".

Or pursue "absolutely beautiful color".

Either pursue "no intention" or "no creativity".

These are the "highlights". Jadeite and white jade with bright spots are almost impossible to replicate. For merchants doing jade business, the most profitable thing is "volume", and the least profitable thing is to pursue "creative carving".

The cruelest reality of the jade market is that good materials are everywhere as long as you can afford the price. However, it is extremely difficult to find jadeite of high quality with exquisite carving and unlimited creativity.

The reason is simple: even a national-level jade carving master may not be able to produce a few works of "unlimited creativity and exquisite craftsmanship" in his lifetime! Any jade dealer who pursues carving, and also pursues "infinitely creative" carving, is equivalent to forcing himself into a "dead end"!
