Instead of making bracelets from the spring-colored jadeite sheets, the owner uses them to carve small ornaments. Is he crazy?

A good composition idea can save a piece of material and make the jadeite emit charming brilliance; a bad idea can also ruin everything.

Today I am sharing the process of creating a spring-colored jadeite. Do you think it has brought out the charm of the material or has it ruined the jade?

I believe many of you will be a little excited when you see this piece of spring-colored jadeite at first glance. After all, it has purple and green colors, and it is a large piece of spring-colored jadeite with floating green color, which is really rare.

According to normal thinking, many people’s first reaction is to buy bracelets, after all, the market for spring-colored bracelets is good. But when you pick up the material and examine it before considering taking the item, you can clearly see that the quality of the jade material is average, and the highlight is this long green belt.

But after carefully analyzing the material, I found that the material was not suitable for making bracelets. There are three reasons:

First, this piece of material is narrow at the top and wide at the bottom. The upper purple part is about 1.5CM thick, and the lower green part is 4.5cm thick. If you force yourself to take the bracelet, you will definitely waste the green color;

Second, the green bands on the jade material are distributed in linear shapes. If you take a bracelet, you can only get a small part of the floating green.

Third, look at the purple color under the light. The best and most intense purple water color is located in the middle. If you take a bracelet, the quality of the purple on the bracelet will be relatively poor.

If he couldn't take out the bracelet, but wanted to take out the tag, the owner would feel it was a waste of materials, which made him very conflicted!

Later, the jade carver repeatedly studied the color depth distribution and water head direction of the material, referred to many works of his peers, and came up with a bold idea. He took the essence of purple to create Guanyin, added green to make a small figure ornament.

With the composition direction, the jade carver quickly drew up the draft: the purple part was designed as Guanyin, and the three-dimensional figure image weakened the visual difference of the jade material being narrow at the top and wide at the bottom; the green part was designed as a wisp of flowing auspicious cloud, retaining the green color to the maximum extent.

The patterns are carved using the technique of three-dimensional round carving. From the rough goods, we can see that the works have three-dimensional and full shapes, and the carved lines are exquisite and smooth. Guanyin has a compassionate and peaceful face, sitting quietly on the auspicious clouds. The whole picture is full of art and overflowing with strong Buddhist Zen!

The main body of the small ornament is carved with a smooth surface without too many lines to embellish it. This treatment method is very bold. If the polishing effect is good, it will make the natural colors such as spring and color appear more vividly!
