What does an A-grade jade bracelet mean, and how to identify an A-grade jade bracelet?

Bracelets are one of the most popular accessories. From ancient times to the present, Chinese people have had a certain sentiment towards bracelets. Especially women. It was once popular in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of my country. For example, the "Gold-Cast Jade Fortune, Longevity and Multicolored Bracelet" that Empress Dowager Cixi of the Qing Dynasty never took off throughout her life. It is said that in order to make this bracelet, 12,000 jade bracelets were smashed to produce this perfect product. Later, the censor Meng Chuanjin said: "A family fortune of millions is not as good as a bracelet", which was referring to this "gold-cast jadeite fortune, wealth and longevity five-color bracelet", which shows how priceless it is. Later it was said that this bracelet was stolen from Cixi's tomb by Sun Dianying and given to Soong Mei-ling, the first lady of the Republic of China. There was no trace of him after that.

In the mid-1930s, there was a piece of jadeite with excellent green color in Chongguzhai in Beijing. The owner asked a jade craftsman to remove the defects and make a pair of twisted bracelets. This pair of jade twisted bracelets are not only flawless, but also novel in design. They are emerald green like water, delicate and beautiful, and were the best jade bracelets at that time. It was bought by the wife of Shanghai Green Gang boss Du Yuesheng for 40,000 oceans. At that time, office clerks in Shanghai earned two yuan a month. Later, Mrs. Du wore the twisted bracelet to attend a banquet and was spotted by Soong May-ling, who fell in love with her at first sight and couldn't let it go. It is true that every oriental woman has a passion for jade bracelets. Mrs. Du had no choice but to give it to Soong Mei-ling. From then on, Soong Mei-ling took good care of this jade bracelet and never took it off. As time goes by, the bracelet becomes more transparent, brighter, and the emerald color becomes more vivid. She was still wearing it at Soong May-ling's 100th birthday party in 1997. This full-color twisted bracelet is still being handed down from generation to generation. It seems that it was sold at a sky-high price of 120 million yuan at an auction house in early 2000.

Jadeite has high hardness (also known as water type) and is smooth and bright. Moreover, good jadeite has bright and peaceful color, and has high appreciation and collection value, so it is called the "King of Jade". Loved by many jade lovers. A-grade jade bracelets are bright in color and can be worn by anyone regardless of identity, status, age, or gender. Therefore, it is in line with the Chinese people's reserved, peaceful, gentle and friendly character.

Japan and New Zealand also regard jade as the "national stone" of the two countries. Because jade is produced in Myanmar, which is close to China, and most of the finished products are processed in China, coupled with the Chinese people's special preference for jade, Western countries also generally believe that jade is China's "national jade."

So what does A-grade jade bracelet mean? Grade A jade means natural jade. Jade is generally divided into three categories, A, B, C. Among them, A-grade jade is natural jade. A-grade jade refers to jade that has not undergone any processing. It has a strong glass luster, a crisp and pleasant sound, and the cotton wool inside is similar to the shape of a fly's wings. Natural jade is divided into: glass type, ice type, oily green type, violet, black jade, bean type, glutinous rice type, etc.; the color of jade can be divided into seven major categories: colorless, white, green, purple, black, yellow and red, and combined colors.

No one can deny the value of jade, and no one can accurately explain the value of jade. The price of jadeite is affected by many factors. It should be noted that no matter what the price is, the prerequisite is that the jadeite you like is authentic A-grade.

"One point more water means ten taels more silver, one grade difference in color means ten times the price difference" is an old saying in the industry, which clearly explains how big the price fluctuations of jade are and how difficult it is to grasp them. No matter what we look at, we focus on the overall picture. Although color is more important, you can't just look at the color and ignore the characteristics such as water head, let alone A-grade jadeite? Good products must be Grade A products, but Grade A products are not necessarily good products. We need to think more about this sentence before we can have a deeper understanding of Grade A jade bracelets.

How to choose A-grade jade bracelets:

1. Look at the luster: Jade has a glassy luster, the reflective surface is as bright and sharp as glass, and the reflective points are concentrated and do not diverge. A-grade jade bracelets have high transparency and strong glass luster, and are a high-quality jade variety that is very popular among people. The luster of B and C grade jadeite is not strong, it is more like oily luster, not as bright as A grade jadeite.

2. Hardness: Jade has a relatively high hardness and can easily scratch glass. It is also very tough and will not break easily. The hardness of jadeite after artificial processing will decrease and will not be as high as grade A jadeite.

3. Identify the jadeite texture: The jadeite texture is also called "fly wings" and is one of the identification methods for A-grade jadeite. It is particularly obvious when the particles that make up the jadeite are coarse. If the particles that make up jade are very fine, the "jade quality" is rarely seen, such as old pit glass jade, the "jade quality" is difficult to see with the naked eye. After artificial treatment, no "fly wings" are visible on the jadeite.

4. Look at the white cotton: White cotton refers to the translucent, slightly transparent white substance in the form of patches, stripes, filaments, and waves inside the jade. Although the presence of white cotton will more or less affect the beauty of jade, it is also one of the identification methods of jade. The white cotton of jade also reflects its natural properties to some extent. If you see pure jade without any impurities and the price is relatively low, it must have been artificially processed. When the buyer advertises that this is a genuine jade bracelet with a certificate, you should carefully identify it.

5. Identify the color root: The color root is a sign used in jade identification to determine the authenticity of jadeite green. On a full green jadeite jewelry, if you can see a point or a thin strip of slightly darker green, and the slightly darker green gradually transitions to the relatively lighter green, it is called a color root. But the green color of A-grade jade is very uniform, with no difference in depth, and no color roots. Too many roots will affect its quality and price. Of course, the price of top-grade jade is generally quite expensive. The color of natural jade has a color root, the color is visible and unevenly distributed. The color of dyed jade is divergent, invisible, and has a floating feeling, and is distributed in a silk screen pattern on the surface.
