Of these four jade maintenance methods, are you only aware of the first two?

Maintenance is the most important part of wearing and collecting jade. If jade is not properly maintained, or the maintenance method is incorrect, it can easily affect the appearance of jade. At the very least, the jade's luster will become dull and lose a certain amount of water head. At worst, the jade will be damaged and cracked.

There are generally the following ways to maintain jadeite, but many people only focus on the first two or only know the first two maintenance methods. Are you the same?

Human support

That is, while wearing it, you can rub and play with it in your spare time. Over time, the surface of the jade will become more delicate and smooth. In addition, while wearing it, the jade will come into contact with human skin and absorb the oil secreted by the human body. Over time, the jade will become more transparent.

Water culture

It is very important to soak jade in water regularly. The water used to soak jade should be pure water. Tap water has been treated with chemical substances and will cause corrosion to the surface of jade. In a dry environment or dry season, jade will not get proper humidity and moisture, which will cause the moisture inside the jade to evaporate, causing the jade to become dry and mutated, the water head to be affected, and the luster of the jade to become darker.

Therefore, keeping jade in water or placing it in a relatively humid environment can play a protective role. If the environment is too dry, soak the jade in clean water for more than half an hour regularly to keep it shiny and moist.

Enclosure

Jadeite that is not worn should be sealed and stored immediately. Generally, jadeite is put into a hard plastic bag and sealed. This is done to isolate the jadeite from the impact of climate and environmental changes, which is beneficial to the stability of jadeite's properties.

Wax

That is, apply a layer of paraffin wax, also called sealing wax, on the surface of jade to apply a protective film on the surface of jade to prevent dust, dirt and some corrosive objects from polluting the surface of jade. It is also beneficial to prevent some hard objects from wearing the surface of jade, maintain the stable properties of jade, and at the same time optimize the jade.
