"One cut can make you poor, another cut can make you rich" is a well-known saying in the jade industry. "One cut" can determine the fate of a piece of jade, but the thousands of cuts made by a carving craftsman can also change the fate of a piece of jade. Jade is originally just a piece of extremely dense mineral. If you can give it enough inspiration, it will come "alive" and become a living object. The piece of Damakan rough stone introduced today was bought by a consignee who spent a lot of money. He originally wanted to cut it directly with a knife, but was stopped by a carving master. The carving master said that the Damakan raw stone is very suitable for skillful carving, and the raw stone in the owner's hands was given to the master for carving, so he told the owner that he wanted to use this raw stone to carve a good jade product. After the owner agreed, the carving master, except for eating, drinking, defecating and urinating, spent almost all his time holding a flashlight to light the stone and draw drafts of the design. A week later, he finally put down his flashlight and paintbrush and started carving. The carving angle goes from the outside to the inside, mercilessly injecting vitality into the stone. In two months, only part of the stone was removed. He cut the stone into two halves, carved two exquisite ornaments from the larger half, and saved the other half. The first piece he carved was a relatively small Buddha statue because of his unfamiliar technique. The main face was of Buddha and the back was of lotus. A hint of green on the stone cleverly became a branch that covered the Buddha statue. The color separation between the back and the main surface is particularly obvious, and the yellow edge seems to be the embankment protecting the lotus. The second piece has mastered the essence of jade carving. The preciousness of this stone does not affect his bold carving technique at all. Looking from the side, you can clearly see a building - the Dragon Palace; looking closely, there seems to be a mass lying on top of the Dragon Palace; looking from above, yes, this is the ancient ferocious beast Taotie. Taotie gazes at the Dragon Palace, giving people the feeling of dominating the world.
