Generally, the white skin indicates that the stone is relatively pure and the probability of containing green components is not high. The yellow, brown and black skins are more likely to contain green components.

The skin of jade can be roughly divided into three types: sandy skin, fine skin and rough skin.

Sand leather: The weathered sand on the leather shell feels like it can be wiped off by hand and comes in all colors.

The colors of fog are mainly divided into four categories: red, yellow, black and white.

The color of jade fog will affect the quality of jade, but it has little to do with the color of jade. The color and existence of the fog can only indicate the amount of impurities inside the jade, the age of the species, the transparency and internal cleanliness, etc.

White fog generally appears in jadeite with white sand skin. The appearance of white fog indicates that its quality is quite good.

Yellow fog generally appears in jadeite with yellow sand skin. The green inside this type of jadeite raw stone is mostly blue.

Black fog usually appears under the black skin, because the green under the fog is oily, it is easy to peel off and pollute the ground. Red fog generally appears less frequently, and the jade inside is generally gray, with many cracks, color deviation, and tinea.

03. How to see the color of the raw stone

Gambling on stones is always inseparable from "color". If you want to determine whether there is color inside the original stone, you must specifically see whether there are characteristics such as loose flowers, python belts, and ringworms on the skin of the original stone.

The color with the highest probability of being fine is Songhua, which is some color blocks, patches, and strips that are faintly visible on the surface of the jade skin, like dried moss. It refers to the traces left by the green on the original jade material that has gradually faded due to weathering.

Based on the color depth, shape, direction, amount and density of the pine flowers, we can infer the depth, direction, size and shape of the green inside them.

04. How to identify ringworm in raw stones

Tinea is black, gray, and light gray marks of varying sizes and colors that appear on the surface of the jade skin. Some are smooth, some are rough, some are spotted, and some are large areas.

There is a certain correlation between the presence or absence of color inside the jade and the lichen on the skin. The presence of lichen does not necessarily mean the presence of green, and the presence of green does not necessarily mean the presence of lichen. Python is a strip or sheet-like object formed by fine sand that appears on the skin of jade, which is different from other places. Python is generally distributed in belts, also known as "python belt".

Python is one of the important bases for judging the type, water and color of jadeite raw stone.

Pythons are divided into colored pythons and fleshy pythons. The jadeite under colored pythons has a higher chance of color, while the jadeite under fleshy pythons will not have color although the quality is better than other parts.

The python belt protrudes from the surface of the original stone. It looks delicate and smooth and does not feel rough. If there are loose flowers on the python belt, it means that the water head of this original stone will not be bad. If the python belt has no pine flowers and is black, rusty red or other colors, it means the quality is poor and it is best not to buy it.
