Share the jadeite raw stone with red fog from the Damakan mine and the process of carving Manjushri Bodhisattva!

This is a piece of jadeite rough stone from the Damakan mine. The skin has been peeled off and it can be mined directly. Let’s see what kind of work the jade carver will present in the end!

Red is jadeite and green is emerald. Red has always been a popular color in jade, especially in the Damakan mine.

It is generally believed that red is formed by the oxidation of iron ions. There is also yellow as a coloring agent, which are collectively referred to as red and yellow fog in the Damakan mining area.

Since the jade is relatively large, I chose to cut it, and the idea is to use the fog color to carve

I didn't expect that after cutting it open, the fog was very thick, and in some places it was more than one centimeter thick. This was unexpected. Thick fog is jade, and thin fog is fog.

According to the customer's request, I am preparing to make a Manjushri Bodhisattva. The fog color is also relatively thick, so it can be used to carve figures.

After the carving was completed, it was almost the same as imagined. The foggy area around the body was carved into the main body of the Bodhisattva statue.

The white area in the middle can be used to carve the lion's mouth.

The back side has been left blank for engraving

The final polished product still shows better glue feeling.

Polishing still uses a combination of matte and high gloss techniques, so that the polished figures can highlight the three-dimensional sense of the material itself.

The effect of engraving on the back should contrast with the front.
