Wool with a lot of cotton, large impurities and coarse particles is called "stone-like" and should be denied from the perspective of species. Good quality jade has a high structural density, strong reflectivity and refractive index, and appears to be surrounded by a ring of "halo" or "precious light", which is very beautiful visually.

Key points about color

Color refers to the green color of jade, including the level, shape, quantity, thickness, and distribution of green. Emerald green, apple green, and seedling green are the best.

There are not many good green jades and they are very expensive. The most common colors are red, blue, yellow, purple, etc. These colors are produced from high-quality jade materials and have a good price. There is a saying in the industry that "laymen look at color, experts look at quality", which means that good quality is a prerequisite for good color.

Key points about water

Water refers to the transparency of jadeite, which is closely related to the type and is a manifestation of the jade texture. Four kinds of superior transparency and translucency are usually represented by glass water (almost completely transparent), sweet sugar water (semi-transparent rock sugar), glutinous water, and glutinous ice type (which has the advantages of both ice and glutinous types).

Key points about the bottom

The background refers to the purity of the parts other than color. It is more related to the type of water, and it serves as a foil and setting off of the color.

Key points about "crack"

Cracks refer to the fissures and cracks in jade. High-quality jade products are hardly allowed to have the slightest cracks. General products should also exclude breaks and large cracks.

The five factors that determine jade, especially the first four, can be said to be mutually inclusive and independent. Generally speaking, products with good quality and color have excellent water and base. However, if the water quality is not good, it will be muddy and unclear, which will directly affect the value of its color. Cracks are also an important factor affecting its color value.
