The red series of jadeite includes dark red, deep red, bright red, light red, slightly red and brownish yellow, deep yellow, chicken-fat yellow, light yellow and pale yellow series. The changes in color of the transition zone (i.e. fog) between the jadeite surface and flesh are mainly caused by geothermal energy, groundwater and burial depth. More importantly, under the influence of these relevant external factors, the iron-containing elements in the surrounding environment enter the gaps between jade crystals to form a secondary color. Red is not the color of the jade crystals themselves. Experimental data show that even a change of one ten-thousandth of the "iron" content is enough to affect the change in the color of the red series of jadeite, resulting in the red jadeite series with various shades and shades, and a variety of red and yellow variations in the jadeite products we see. People usually call the red series red jadeite and the yellow series yellow jadeite. Is red jadeite valuable? The most attractive thing about red jadeite is its color. Red jadeite is more valuable than yellow jadeite, but its output is less than that of yellow jadeite. But not all red jadeite has high value. Only those red jadeite with good quality and transparency are rare and valuable. Therefore, when determining whether a piece of red jade is valuable, the brightness of its color is one of the most critical factors. There is a kind of red jadeite color vividly called "Cockscomb Red". It is not only red, but also very pure and bright, with delicate jade quality and crystal clearness. It is a rare top-grade red jadeite with high ornamental and collection value. Things to note when buying red jadeite: The brownish-red or dark red red jadeite that we often see in the market has a coarse texture and is a low-grade type with many impurities. It can be bought for a few hundred or a few thousand yuan and generally has no room for appreciation and collection value. In addition, there is a kind of burned red jade on the market. These red jades are all produced through artificial high-temperature heat treatment. Although they are beautiful, they will not appreciate in value and have no collection value. Therefore, when purchasing, collectors should pay attention to whether the red jadeite they purchase is baked jadeite. If they have any doubts, it is best to stay away from it.
