Good jadeite is one with good quality and water content. Understanding the value standard of jadeite from the concept of quality and water content

Jade has always been a noble jade loved by people. People who know a little about jade may have heard of the type and base of jade, but they don’t know much about its specific concepts. Today we will take a brief look at the differences between jade’s type, ground, and water head.

First of all, the type of jade: this is a pure concept, that is, transparency. According to the level of transparency, it can be divided into: glass type, ice type, glutinous type and bean type. The glass type is the most transparent, and the bean type is opaque.

There are many types of jade, and ice type is the most popular type of jade. Why is ice type so popular? First of all, the base of ice type is clean, the water is full, the type is old, and the price is not as expensive as high ice type and glass type. The price is down-to-earth and the quality is also recognized by everyone. It is loved by everyone, whether it is an expert who knows the goods or a layman who doesn't.

The ice-type jadeite with the best quality and highest transparency is often called high ice-type, which means it has the best texture among ice-type jadeites, but does not reach the level of glass-type. Although ice jade is only three parts warm, it is seven parts cold. Most of them are translucent to transparent, giving people a clear feeling.

In recent years, a kind of ice-glutinous jade has appeared, which is a kind of glutinous jade. Because its transparency and water head are higher than those of ordinary glutinous jade, and it is very similar to ice jade in some aspects, it can be said that ice-glutinous jade is between ice and glutinous in terms of water and texture. It is a transition between the two types, so many people distinguish it from glutinous jade and ice jade, and give it another name.

Just like the ice glass type, it is actually a type of ice jade, but it is high ice type, close to glass type, and the same is true for ice glutinous type. We can also call it ice type.

The second is the water of jade: objects made of jade with full of water are beautiful. They don’t need carving. Just leaving an imprint will make them look watery and beautiful. The water of jade is a general concept that includes transparency and clarity. Some jades are very transparent, but contain a lot of cotton and impurities, so they don’t have a watery feeling. Instead, they are shocking and ugly. Sufficient water means it is transparent, clear and has few impurities. Ice-type jadeite pieces with good water content.

In the jargon of jade, you can often hear the four words "jade ground" from the mouths of experts. In fact, ground, like type and water, ground is also a description of jade's characteristics.

The ground is also called the ground sheet: bottom. The ground is the texture that green depends on and the carrier of green distribution; it is the foundation. The ground is a combination of all factors except green. It is the quality characteristic reflected by the combination and coordination of type, water (transparency) and clarity. It reflects the structure, transparency and cleanliness of jade, and also contains the characteristics of tone and color.

The quality of jadeite's base is determined by its water quality. In addition, the amount of defects such as cracks, asbestos, stone patterns, impurities, etc. also affects the quality of the base. The anthropomorphic characteristics of the naming of the ground are more obvious. The concepts of earth and water are often confused by some newcomers to jade appreciation.

The quality of jade and the ground describe the characteristics of jade from different angles. The quality of the water focuses on the size of the internal crystal particles and the density of the structure, while the ground emphasizes the organic combination and external expression of characteristics such as the quality of the water and the color. The quality of the ground is determined by the mutual influence of factors such as the jade's quality, water and color. If the quality is poor, the ground will definitely be poor, but a good ground is not necessarily good. Only when the quality of the soil and the water are good can you have a good land.

The quality of jade, ground, and green color form the cornerstone of jade analysis. Their combination and expansion constitute the entire knowledge about jade.

The type and color of jade are important factors in evaluating the value of jade. When the two are put together, type and color, which one is more important for jade?

"Color" refers to the "color" of jade. Jade color is classified into seven categories: colorless, white, green, purple, black, yellow and red, and combined colors. In fact, to put it simply, jade colors can be divided into three categories: primary color, secondary color and combined color. This is very easy, and even a layman can tell the quality of color. Rich colors are naturally good, while pale colors are not very satisfactory.

The types of jadeite are roughly divided into two categories: bean-type with low transparency; glutinous type with clear internal structure but opaque; ice type which is translucent but higher in transparency than glutinous type; and glass type which has moist and uniform color and extremely high transparency.

Which is more important: the type or color of jade? There is a saying in the jargon when buying jadeite, which is "laymen look at the color, experts look at the quality." When buying jadeite, the most important thing is the “quality”. Jadeite of poor quality will not be valuable no matter how rich its color is. When purchasing jadeite, the quality is the most important consideration, which means the texture of the jadeite. There is a saying about jadeite that it has “36 waters, 72 beans, and 108 blues,” which shows how complex and diverse its varieties are. Final summary: The type, land and water of jade are all very important. It is not said that one is the most important of the three. If you want to achieve collection-level jade, all three are indispensable.
