Today I will talk to you about Guatemalan jade, because many people will buy it as Myanmar's oily green or blue water. If you are a novice or someone who doesn't know much about these, you don't know the price difference between them. The same size and similar quality Guatemalan jade may only cost a few hundred yuan, while blue water jade may cost tens of thousands, or even higher. However, some live broadcast rooms now sell Guatemalan jade worth a few hundred yuan for tens of thousands. So the purpose of recording this lesson is to buy jade without buying something of unequal value at a high price. This is not good. In addition, Guatemalan jade also comes in many colors, and if the Guatemalan jade is inspected by an inspection agency, the jade A certificate issued is also required. For friends who like jade, I think it is necessary to know about this material. Guatemala is the largest jadeite producing area besides Myanmar, and the annual jade mining volume is also very large. Jade produced in Guatemala is mainly sold as a tourist product. Guatemalan jade, also known as "Guatemalan jade" Before talking about dangerous materials, let’s talk about blue water jadeite, so that you can understand why many jade lovers are cheated by unscrupulous merchants, because blue water jadeite is really beautiful and has great collection value. Blue water jade is a type of ice jade. Blue water jade has a uniform, light blue color. Blue water does not simply refer to the color. It also refers to the old jade with good texture, fine texture, good water head and high transparency. Only when it is matched with the color can it be called such a name. Blue water jade is a rare variety of ice jade. Its color and transparency are like the blue of sea water, like a blue ghost, and like the luxury of high-end aquamarine. It makes people feel like a spiritual treasure, beautiful and full of fantasy, and it is really beautiful and attractive. Due to its good overall uniformity, Blue Water Jade can be used to make bracelets and relatively large and thick jade products. Good blue water materials are very expensive, and if paired with good carving, they become very collectible. So many jade lovers like Burmese blue water, but they end up buying dangerous materials. When looking at a jadeite, from the perspective of identification, you should first look at the appearance and then compare it based on the appearance. Determine which category of jade it belongs to, and then consider its quality, water, color, and flaws. The green jadeite from Guatemala is dark in color, generally dark green or dark bean green. In appearance, its particles are relatively coarse, transparency is poor, crystallization is poor, and it is mainly coarse-grained. It always has a gray base, but the emerald properties are obvious. Wei material has poor transparency and dark color. Some of it looks very green, but the back of the jade is hollowed out, like a pot cover, and then fully inlaid, so you can't see the back of the jade; some of the backs are made of very bright metal, and under the light, it looks like genuine imperial green high-quality jade, which is difficult to distinguish, but there are also characteristics to judge. This kind of jade will darken in color as long as it is not under the light and the metal on the bottom does not reflect sunlight. Some places are too small to be dug, so the places that are not dug appear dark. The main components of Myanmar's blue water jade and Wei material are both omphaloside. The omphaloside content of Wei material is generally around 10%, and that of Myanmar material is generally 1% to 2%. In addition, the iron content of Wei material is relatively high, so the color looks more blue and gray. Wei material has many black spots and is often accompanied by a yellow skin, and there is no fog in Wei material. Its internal crystal particles are relatively coarse and its transparency is very low, so it is significantly inferior to the Burmese blue water material in terms of gloss, transparency, and fineness. In addition, there are also some Wei materials like the white cotton from Burmese Muna. It is distributed irregularly, like large flakes of snow flying in the sky; the snowflake cotton of Burmese jade is in the form of salt granules. Studies have shown that the main mineral components of Guatemalan jade are jadeite and omphacite, and jadeite jade has two main types: purple and green. The relative density of Guatemalan jade is 2.85-3.04, the refractive index is 1.65-1.66, the luster of glass, and the Mohs hardness is 7. Compared with Burmese jadeite, Guatemalan jadeite has a slightly lower relative density. Although they are all jade, in the jade industry, Myanmar is considered to be the authentic origin of jade. Only jade produced in Myanmar is considered the purest jade. Guatemalan jade also comes in a variety of colors including green, purple, yellow and black. Among them, the best category is the Guatemalan Imperial Green Jadeite, but it is far from being comparable to the Burmese Imperial Green, because the two are not of the same grade in terms of texture, color or transparency. The color of purple Wei jadeite is closer to lilac, and is lighter than the color of Burmese violet jadeite. In appearance, most Wei purple jadeite has a white base color and an overall bluish-purple hue. Black Wuliao jade mainly refers to "Maya black jade", which has a dark green color and contains impurities such as gold, silver, and pyrite, making the surface of Wuliao black jade look like a sky full of stars. Therefore, it is also called "Galaxy Gold Jade". The color of Wei material dark green jadeite tends to be dark blue, with poor transparency, coarse crystals, and few varieties with fine crystals. The same type of jade from Burma is generally gray-black or gray-green in color, with small grains, high transparency and good crystallinity. Since Weidi jadeite is of lower value and price, but very similar to Burmese jadeite, unscrupulous merchants use Weidi jadeite to confuse Burmese jadeite to obtain high profits and defraud consumers.
