What does Oil Green Return to Green mean? Many people don’t understand

Recently, a netizen bought a jade bracelet and was wearing it happily, but then he heard someone say that it was a jade bracelet that turned from oily green to green. So he posted a picture and asked everyone for advice, asking if it was a jade bracelet that turned from oily green to green?

It is the bracelet in the picture above. To be honest, at first glance, the color is quite green and fresh, not like the oily green in our impression. Many netizens also said this:

Some people even joked that if this is called Youqing, how can other bracelets survive?

However, many people are also confused, what does oily green turning green mean? I know these four words separately, but why can't I understand what they mean when put together?

Oil Green

To explain these four words, we must first start with the word "youqing".

Oil: It is a concept of water. Water refers to transparency. Jadeite of ice type and above seems to have water flowing on its surface. Jadeite of lower transparency often has oily sheen. This is what is called oil.

Cyan: It is a color that is both blue and green. Compared with pure green, its base color is grayer and darker, so it is called Cyan.

Therefore, Oil Green is a type of jade with a gray base color and good water content .

Now we understand the meaning of oily green, but what does returning to green mean? Does it mean that the oily green jade will turn greener as you wear it?

Back to Green

Before explaining the word "return to green", we must first understand the classification of oily green.

The name of oil green comes from its impure base color. Depending on the density and base color, the one with a bluish base is called blue oil green, the one with a green base is called green oil green, the one with an old base and a high density is called old oil green, and the one with a strong gray base is called gray oil green.

Among them, those with good rigidity, good ice degree, pure and bright base color and strong blue flavor are classified as blue water, that is, blue water jadeite .

Blue water does not simply refer to the color, but also requires conditions such as old and fine soil, good water head and high transparency . From the appearance, it is as blue as sea water, and does not appear gray at first glance, but the base color must be gray under darker light.

Generally speaking, water qualifies as blue water only when the water head is above the ice . As blue water became increasingly popular, it was gradually separated from oil green.
