How to Choose a Jade Ring

How to choose a ring: Why do we buy rings? Superstitious belief: If there is a gap between your fingers when you put them together, it is said that money will be lost, so you should wear a ring to make up for it. Nowadays, wearing rings has become a modern decorative accessory, and some artists also often wear them as a symbol of power and nobility. Rings can be divided into two types: plain and inlaid. 1. Plain jade rings are made from a single piece of jade and can be worn directly on the finger without a ring setting. 2. Inlaid rings are generally inlaid with platinum, rose gold, gold, silver and other materials.

1. Observe whether the color is uniform: Observe the top, side, and bottom of the jade from different directions to see whether it is uniform. You can put it in a glass of water to see whether the color distribution of the transparent jade is even. Pay attention to whether the color is getting darker, or whether the color is black or gray. Black or gray is not good.

2. Observe the color brightness: The main component of jadeite green is chromium. The brighter the green, the higher the chromium oxide content. If the green is darker, the iron oxide content will also be higher. Among them, imperial green, chili green, emerald green, and sun green are all titles for bright green. Golden green, boxwood green, apple green and seedling green are all terms for bright green. As for bean green, melon green, and aqua, they are light green. Dark green, oily green, spinach green, etc. are all darker greens and have relatively different values.

3. Observe the water head of jade: Jade is not a single mineral, it is an aggregate of many minerals. Even the same piece of jade may have different color distribution and transparency. Water head is a bet on transparency. If you shine strong light on the surface and the visible light is 1~3cm, you can only guess that 5~10cm is not enough to prove whether the whole jade is completely transparent or translucent.

4. Observe for cracks and impurities: When selecting jadeite, you can use a flashlight to carefully observe for cracks. Also observe whether the jade has too many impurities in its texture. Too many impurities will affect the value of jade. Impurities are white flocs, black matter, and colored minerals.
