One theory is that jadeite was originally the name of a bird. The color of its feathers is very beautiful. The red one is the male bird, called "fei", and the green one is the female bird, called "cui". After the Qing Dynasty, the feathers of the kingfisher were loved by the imperial concubines. At the same time, a large amount of Burmese jade tributed from Myanmar began to become popular in the imperial palace. The colors of this Burmese jade are mainly green and red, with bright colors, which are very similar to the colors of the kingfisher's feathers, so people called this jade "jadeite".

There is also a beautiful legend among the people: There was a beautiful girl named Feicui in Yunnan, China. She was kind and generous, and had learned medicine from her father since she was a child to benefit the poor people. At that time, the Burmese prince was handsome but frail. The king of Burma looked for famous doctors but could not cure him, so he came to China to invite Feicui's father, who was known as a miracle doctor at the time. Jade came to Myanmar with her father and took meticulous care of the sick prince. After the prince recovered, he married the beautiful girl and later made her queen. Jade's personality was not suitable for staying in the strict palace, and she was soon neglected by the king and exiled to a remote area. There were frequent floods in the local area, and the people were plagued by diseases and lived in poverty. Although Feicui was a commoner, she still collected herbs herself, did her best to treat the people, and taught them how to control floods and grow crops. Jade helped the local people out of hardship and brought blessings to all directions, so people respectfully called her "Jade Goddess". After her death, her soul turned into crystals, and after hundreds and thousands of years of refinement, it became a treasure, which is today's jade.

After more than four hundred years of development, jade has finally formed a splendid and unique jade art and jade culture. Today, jade is no longer just a jewel, but a symbol of Chinese people's pursuit of all beautiful things and emotions such as happiness, good fortune and luck.
