The word "jadeite" has a long history. It appeared in "Shuowen Jiezi", the earliest Chinese dictionary compiled by Xu Shen in the Han Dynasty: "Jadeite is a red-feathered bird; Cui is a green-feathered bird." It refers to a kind of bird. Later, people used the word "jade" to describe this colorful gem. After Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, jade began to be used on a large scale. Jade has a special place in the hearts of Chinese people. The translucent green color of jade is a color that is extremely full of vitality; the variety of jade varieties; the magic of jade gambling; the huge differences in the value of jade, all of these make people feel that jade is unpredictable and full of mysteries. In addition, the delicate and translucent characteristics of jade are extremely in line with the aesthetic views of the Chinese people. Therefore, over the past 300 years, the Chinese have formed a deep complex about jade. Whether it is exquisite jewelry or majestic jade carvings, they are all infused with the emotions of the descendants of Yan and Huang and the essence of Chinese culture. Jadeite, jadeite is red and emerald is green. Jade is a type of jade, which is divided into jadeite and nephrite. Jadeite is a type of jadeite. The representative variety of nephrite is Hetian jade. Jadeite is mainly produced in Myanmar and is also known as Burmese jade. There are several theories about the origin of the name of jadeite. One theory is that it comes from the name of a bird. The feathers of this bird are very bright. The male's feathers are red, and it is called the jadeite bird (also known as the red-feathered bird). The female's feathers are green, and it is called the kingfisher (also known as the green-feathered bird). Together they are called "jadeite", so there is a saying in the industry that jadeite is male and kingfisher is female. During the Ming Dynasty, after Burmese jade was introduced to China, it was named "jadeite". Another theory is that in ancient times "Cui" specifically referred to the green jade produced in Hotan, Xinjiang. After jadeite was introduced to China, in order to distinguish it from the green jade of Hotan, it was called "fei cui", and later gradually evolved into "jadeite". Legend has it that since the Emerald Goddess was banished to the mountainous area in northern Myanmar, she saw that the residents there were very poor, and that hunger, disease, plague, and disasters often accompanied the poor local people. The Emerald Goddess saw this and felt pain in her heart, so she was determined to do her best to rescue the suffering people. She personally went up the mountain to collect herbs and boiled medicine to treat the sick people for free. In addition to doing good deeds, collecting herbs and treating diseases for the people, punishing evil and promoting good, she also brought happiness and wealth to the Burmese people, and taught China's farming technology at that time to the local people. She was respected and loved by the Burmese people. In order to help the people in the mountainous areas get rid of the pain of diseases and master advanced farming techniques, Emerald Goddess traveled along the upper reaches of the Irrawaddy River, the mother river of the Burmese people, and trekked through mountains and rivers, covering the mountains and rivers of the plateau in northern Myanmar. Eventually, Emerald Goddess fell ill on the way back to Hpakant. That place is called Sobiadan (Soap Mountain), which is only more than ten kilometers away from Hpakant Town. Emerald Goddess was exhausted at this time, and passed away with unfulfilled wishes. When the people called for her body to be found, they gathered in Sobiadan and held a very grand cremation for the Emerald Goddess. People hoped that the soul of the Jade Goddess would ascend to heaven, but her soul did not ascend with the blazing flames. In order to fulfill her last wish before her death - to benefit the common people, bring blessings to her people and let her mountain people live a good life from generation to generation, her sacred soul dissolved into the ultrabasic jadeite rock that invaded the earth's crust from the mantle, and turned into a mysterious treasure - colorful and crystal clear jadeite.
