We observed the material. It is long in shape, bright yellow in color but not too thick, with a few purple and floating flowers. Unfortunately, there are a lot of cotton wool floating on it.

The difficulty in processing this material lies in how to change its shape and color. First, we need to solve the shape. If we can’t cut it, we will give priority to small ornaments. If placed vertically, although the three colors can be displayed at the same time, no matter which side the yellow is on, the left and right are not very coordinated and the yellow is not highlighted enough. If it is placed horizontally, the yellow can be displayed to the greatest extent.

Over this period of time, we have been constantly trying new thinking about jade carving and cultural confidence. After thinking about it, I finally came up with an idea!

First, use slender white to design the hull, leave a large area of ​​yellow, and according to the thickness distribution, choose the corresponding shape to make the boat canopy. Part of the yellow is used as the boatman's straw hat, lamp, wine glass and jug, etc., which makes the use of color more exquisite, breaks the continuity of yellow and resolves the material limitations formed by the entire slope. Through the space between people and boats, three-dimensional carving is used to dig out the cotton wool and reveal the purple inside, which can also better transmit light and adjust water.
