There is an old Chinese saying that goes, "Even gods cannot cut jade," which means that jade is difficult to cut. Indeed, the raw stones that many people invest in are covered materials, and it is difficult for us to judge the internal situation from the outside. However, it is not absolutely impossible to judge the situation of jadeite raw stones. A few days ago, we talked in detail about the various characteristics of jadeite raw stones, and some rules that can be roughly drawn based on these characteristics. I believe many friends have learned a lot. Today, I will summarize and take you to understand the "eight things" you need to do before investing in jadeite raw stones: 1. Look at the scene We know that each mining area has its own characteristics. Some mining areas produce less jade, but each piece is of high quality. Some mining areas produce a large amount of jade, but the quality of the jade is poor. Only by grasping the characteristics of each piece of jadeite rough stone and determining which mine it was produced from can we infer whether the rough stone is worth investing in based on the characteristics of the mine. In the jadeite raw stone industry, there has long been a saying that "Don't buy raw stones if you don't understand the site." In short, we must pay attention to distinguishing the jadeite from these major mining areas and master the characteristics of the jadeite raw stones from these mining areas. This will provide strong support for us to buy raw stones. Here are four better rough stones from the Jadeite Field: 2. Look at the skin The skin is the weathered outer skin of the jadeite raw stone. The different performances of different skins determine the various conditions of their internal textures. For example, the colors of the skin include black, gray, yellow, brown, light yellow, white, etc. The color, base, type and cracks inside the jadeite raw stone can be judged based on the skin. In addition, the distribution and arrangement of the particles in the husk are also important. When buying raw stones, you should naturally choose jadeite raw stones with fine, uniform and clean sand. The texture of raw stones with coarse sand, sand plates, sand bubbles and other skins is mostly poor. We need to carefully observe and analyze the arrangement of the sand particles in the skin and find those raw stone skins that are beneficial to us for investment. 3. Look at the fog The fog of jadeite raw stone refers to a layer of foggy opaque substance that exists between the outer weathering crust and the internal jadeite. The fog of jadeite raw stone mainly includes white fog, yellow fog, red fog and black fog. Although fog cannot directly affect the color of jadeite, fog of different colors has different indicative functions, which can be used to determine the type of the raw stone. Therefore, fog is an important indicator for judging the quality of jadeite raw stone. If fog appears on the outer skin of jade, it is what people often call "peeling skin". The jade quality of this kind of peeling skin jadeite raw stone must be gray, and its green color will be adversely affected. Moreover, the thickness of the fog varies greatly. Generally speaking, thick fog reflects that the jade quality is poor and the base is prone to turn gray, because this may be caused by loose jade. But sometimes high green will appear, so some people also like to buy black fog raw stones. 4. Check for ringworm Tinea refers to marks of various shapes that appear on the skin of jadeite raw stone, mostly in the form of spots and stripes, usually black or dark green. Generally speaking, ringworm and green are closely related, but the presence of ringworm does not necessarily mean the presence of green, and the presence of green does not necessarily mean the presence of ringworm. If there are too many spots on the skin of the jadeite raw stone, it is possible that the inside is very dirty and there will be a phenomenon of "black eating green". People often use lichen to judge the green color inside the original stone. Experts often say "green follows black", "green appears from lichen", and "green is mixed with lichen". These are the summary of experience. If a piece of jadeite has more stone lichen than color, then you should not invest in it blindly. If the lichen and color can be separated or there is less lichen and more color on the original stone, then the investment value of this original stone is relatively large. 5. See pine flowers When you look closely at the skin of the jadeite raw stone, you can vaguely see some color blocks that look like dried moss, which we call pine flowers. Pine flowers are traces left behind when the green on the jade fades due to weathering, so the color inside the jadeite can be inferred based on the intensity, quantity, density, and shape changes of the pine flowers. Generally speaking, the greener and more numerous the pine flowers are, the better; bright colors are better than dull ones; concentrated distribution is better than scattered ones; and the deeper the penetration, the better. Sometimes, due to long-distance transportation and human abrasion such as grinding, rubbing and cutting, the originally obvious loose flowers on the skin of jadeite raw stone become less obvious. Some jadeite raw stone skins are not cleaned cleanly, resulting in the loose flowers cannot be seen. This requires us to observe carefully and look for them patiently. Remember: loose flowers are a good sign of jadeite raw stone! 6. Look at the python belt The python band is the thin strips or blocks that appear on the surface of the jadeite raw stone and are different from other places. Experience tells us that the shape, color, distribution and extension of the python band are important signs for judging the changes in the green color of jadeite. The presence of python bands may indicate that there may be a color root beneath the skin. In other words, the quality of the original stone can be judged based on the python belt. Different python belts have different meanings of identification. For example, if a python belt is wrapped around the jade skin, it means that the color inside is better. Of course, python belts mostly have positive significance for raw stone investment, so raw stones with python belts can make money. If there are pine flowers on the python belt, it will be even better. Therefore, some people choose to find pine flowers on the python before buying it for the sake of safety. 7. Look for cracks In the jadeite raw stone, the cracks are called fissures, and the healed cracks are called strands. Cracks are divided into primary cracks, which are formed at the same time as the original stone, and secondary cracks, which are formed after rock diagenesis. Some of the original cracks will be "repaired" by later geological activities, so most of the cracks in jade are formed later. When investing in raw stones, one must not only observe the texture of the jade, but also the distribution of its internal cracks, as the cracks have a great impact on the quality of jade. Experienced experts often say: Don't be afraid of big cracks, be afraid of small cracks. Moreover, many cracks are deceptive and can only be seen after peeling off the skin of the jade. If you fail to identify them beforehand, you will suffer a great loss. 8. Look at the meat quality The flesh of jade exists under the skin and fog. It is real jade. The flesh is almost not affected by the outside world. To judge the quality of the flesh, we must make an overall judgment based on the jade's texture, transparency, base, etc. Of course, these are just some scientific experiences, which can help us invest more rationally to a certain extent. However, these experiences cannot be used right away; you need to have rich practical experience yourself. In other words, these are just other people's experiences, and you also need to accumulate and experience more.
