Jade comes in a variety of colors. 1. Colorless jade and white jade. This type of jade has a single component. In fact, the inner quality of white jade is colorless. It can be divided into three levels based on its light transmittance: white opaque, translucent and transparent. From a chemical factor perspective, colorless and white jade do not contain any color-forming factors. They are pure jadeite, and their transparency is determined by the coarseness of the crystal particles. Generally, colorless jade has very fine crystal particles and very high transparency.

2. Green jadeite. Green is the most common color of jadeite. The so-called "green" refers to green jadeite. The green color of jadeite is divided from light to dark into: light green, green, emerald green, dark green and dark green, among which emerald green is the best. The more saturated the green, the more positive the color and the higher the price. Most jades contain more or less impurities. Some are yellow-green, called Huangyang Green, which still retains the beauty of jade. The price of good quality jade will be higher. However, gray-green affects the quality of jade, and the price is generally lower, so it is not recommended to buy. As for bluish-green, in the past blue-green was considered low-grade jadeite. However, in recent years, due to the scarcity of jadeite resources, bluish-green has gradually been pursued and loved by people. However, only bluish-green with good quality is accepted by people, and the price is generally higher.

3. Purple jade, also known as "purple jadeite". Purple jade has the lowest production among most colors. Due to its low production, many people do little research on purple jade. However, there is a saying in the industry that "ten purples and nine are bean-type", which means that the texture of purple jadeite is generally not very good, usually bean-type, with a rough structure, and the price will not be too high. However, purple jadeite with a fine texture will be very expensive because of its scarcity.

4. Black and dark green jadeite. Black jade usually refers to what people often call black jadeite. It is black under ordinary light and appears dark green under strong light. Generally, the price of black jadeite is not too high.

5. Secondary color jadeite. The secondary colors are mainly yellow and red. It is called "jadeite" in the business. It is generally caused by limonite and hematite.

6. Jadeite with combined colors. In the jewelry industry, some color combinations of jadeite are given specific names, such as Chundaicai, Fu Lu Shou, etc. The spring color, with purple and green colors alternating, symbolizes the blooming of spring flowers. Blessings, wealth and longevity: The colors green, red and purple exist simultaneously on a piece of jade, symbolizing good luck and representing the three joys of happiness, wealth and longevity. Sometimes five colors appear on the same piece of jade, which is also called "five-color jade".
