How to identify the authenticity of jadeite? Unscrupulous merchants are most afraid of you knowing these two points. Don't be a sucker anymore.

99% of people in life don’t understand jade. When buying jade, they are most afraid of two things: one is that they are afraid of buying a fake, and the other is that they are afraid of paying too much. In order to prevent everyone from being deceived and to help them see through more tricks used by merchants, today this article will teach you how to identify the authenticity and quality of jadeite.

There are three main techniques for identifying the authenticity of jadeite:

First look at the color: the color of natural jade is natural and unevenly distributed, the green color is extended, and the "cotton" and "stone flowers" contained in the jade are relatively orderly.

Second, look at the polished surface: The polished surface of natural jade is delicate and smooth, with a strong glass luster with oily luster. If you look closely at the polished surface, you can see slightly transparent to opaque white fibrous crystals, commonly known as "stone flowers".

Third, listen to the sound: When you tap it gently, natural jadeite will produce a crisp and pleasant sound, while artificially processed products will produce a low, dull sound.

The following three points are mainly used to distinguish the quality of jadeite:

1. Jadeite with good transparency has a fine and smooth texture. Both emerald green and dark green are transparent like clear spring water, and are rich in luster and moisture. Jadeite with no black spots, spots, cracks or scratches is better.

2. Color is an important factor in determining its value. The color must be rich and uniform, and must be correct. Jade has many colors, including green, black, gray, red, purple, etc. Among these, the one with green is the best variety. There are also some jades that have multiple colors at the same time, and the price of this kind of jade is also relatively high.

3. The shape, size and thickness of the jade should be appropriate, and the grinding should be uniform. The value of the jade will also be different when it is carved with different craftsmanship. This is where the exquisiteness of jade craftsmanship lies. Jade craftsmen have to design according to the raw materials of jade. If they encounter exquisite carvings, they can often fully reflect the perfection of the jade raw materials, and at the same time they can also appreciate in value to a certain extent.

Apart from looking at the certificate, other methods of identifying jade are not rigorous enough, so it is recommended that you send the jade to a professional appraisal agency for testing.
