Figure themes are very popular themes in jade carving. When many jade lovers get jade materials, the first thing they want to do is to carve them into figures. Generally speaking, the requirements for jadeite in figure themes are relatively high. In addition to requiring the jadeite to be perfect and free of cracks, the texture of the jadeite must also be clean and free of impurities. If there is color on the jadeite, then the color must be used appropriately to carve out a colorful figure pendant! The piece of jadeite I am sharing today has a thick fog layer. Although the color on the fog layer is uneven, the flesh inside has a light light green base color, and the water quality is good. For jadeite like this, when we are conceiving the subject matter, we can plan the main subject matter creation based on the fleshy part inside; and the fog layer can be cleverly carved with different colors to cover up the unevenness of the yellow fog color! When choosing the subject matter, I wanted to carve a Buddhist figure. After detailed communication of intentions, the jade carving master decided to design the jade into the theme of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva: Ksitigarbha and his mount Di Ting were arranged in the clean fleshy part, and the yellow fog layer was colored to look like an old tree. The creation on the back is mainly based on color separation, and a lotus with classic Buddhist elements is used to embellish the entire composition! The jade carving master uses shallow carving to carve the pattern, and skillfully carves the clumsy and strong old tree according to the uneven foggy texture on the edge. It contrasts with the figures and mounts next to it, creating a very layered visual effect. After the carving is completed, although the raw material has not yet been sent for polishing, the advantages of the good material base have been fully demonstrated after the jade is separated through color. The polished goods are even more charming, the yellow fog is used to make the color bright and attractive, the green base is transparent and clean; coupled with the theme of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, it is amazing! fcgc66 fcpf18 |
