Identification of C-grade Jadeite

Identification of C-grade Jadeite

When identifying C-grade jadeite, the focus is on the word "color":

①Exaggerated colors: not correct, not natural;

② Colorless roots: The color is not distributed inside the jadeite crystal, but is attached to the surface of the jadeite mineral or accumulated in the micro-gaps of jadeite. It is often distributed in a network or lump form and has no color roots. Color root is a color generation phenomenon. Taking green jade as an example, the depth of green color in strips, flakes, and lumps has a gradual change characteristic, gradually penetrating into the jade tissue and structure.

The interior of the structure, or a certain line (block) of darker green, gradually transitions to a lighter green.

③ The color of C-grade jadeite is relatively thick on the surface, and becomes lighter as it goes deeper into the jade, or the color is obviously deepened or accumulated in the cracks and rough areas of the jade piece;

The green color of irradiated jadeite is distributed around the surface in ring-shaped or patchy forms. This type of C-grade jadeite looks emerald green at first glance, with good transparency, but it is blue inside. There are traces of bombardment on the surface of the jade piece. The bombarded area is darker than the unbombarded area.

5. Pay attention to the C-grade jadeite on the market that is colored with green polishing powder. This type of C-grade jadeite is mostly in the form of bracelets and small pendants, so you should pay attention to it.
