The name "jade" itself means three colors: red and yellow are "fei", and green is "cui". But what color is jade? “Jade has five colors,” but actually jadeite has roughly six colors! These six colors refer to the major color system, namely white, green, yellow, red, black and purple. However, the color of jade is very diverse, including blue and other various blues. 1. White jade is composed of pure jadeite and is white or colorless. The colorless and transparent glass and ice jade are crystal clear, deeply loved by everyone and have relatively high value. White jade is composed of purer jadeite minerals and does not contain coloring elements. White jade is composed of a single component, but its structure is loose. There are certain gaps between the crystal mineral particles, which allow residual air or other substances to reduce its transparency, making the jade opaque and appear white. Ice white is the best quality white jadeite, transparent to translucent, like the common ice and glass jadeite. This type of jade is pure and flawless, crystal clear, and has a sense of purity and cleanliness.

2. Green is a common color of jadeite, and the "green" here refers to green jadeite. The green color of jadeite is divided from light to dark into: light green, green, emerald green, dark green and dark green, among which emerald green is the best. Most green jades contain more or less impure colors, such as yellow-green, gray-green, blue-green, etc. If the yellow tint in the yellow-green color is very light, it becomes Yellow Yang Green, which still retains the brightness of the jadeite. However, gray-green and blue-green affect the color quality of the jadeite.

3. Both yellow and red jadeite are called "fei", namely "yellow jadeite" and "red jadeite". Both yellow and red jade are secondary colors, which are related to the mixed secondary minerals. Yellow jadeite is produced when mixed with secondary minerals such as goethite and limonite, while red jadeite is produced when mixed with hematite. There are three colors of yellow: light yellow, brown yellow, and honey yellow. Among them, pure honey yellow is the most valuable. This honey yellow color only exists on the skin of pure colorless glass and ice jade, so it is relatively rare. Red jadeite comes in brownish red and pure red, and the pure red color without any brown tones is the most valuable. The origin of black jade is relatively complex. Generally, the color is produced by the infiltration of carbon and other metals. There is also black jade composed of diopside or sodium chrome pyroxene. Therefore, there are three colors: gray-black, dark green and black dry blue.

4. Purple jade is also called violet, and experts also call it "spring". Purple also has many shades, the most common ones are pink and bluish purple. Purple jade is caused by the presence of small amounts of iron and manganese. Purple jadeite with fine texture and bright and uniform color is very valuable.
