1. Different gloss

A-grade jade has a bright luster, like glass. Its surface is very smooth, without pits or sand holes, and it feels raised under a magnifying glass. The reflective surface is fluid and very spiritual.

The luster of B-grade jade is waxy, and the uneven surface can be seen under reflected light. If you look inside, you can see fuzzy dots between the particles.

The luster of C goods is resin luster, which is similar to that of B goods and looks dull. Under reflected light, there are many reticular grooves, and the internal structure is unclear or a blur.

2. The knocking sound is different

The sound of A-grade jade when knocked is very pleasant, and the ending tone is melodious and crisp. This is because the texture of the jade has not been damaged and its overall integrity is good.

The B-grade jadeite that has been soaked in strong acids and alkalis has its structure destroyed, so it sounds dull and has a short tail when knocked, unlike the crisp sound of the A-grade jadeite.

The sound of C-grade jadeite when knocked is duller, rougher and shorter than that of B-grade jadeite. The tail sound is very short, inelastic and disappears quickly.

3. Different colors under fluorescent light

Place the jadeite under a fluorescent light and observe its color changes. Grade A and C jadeite will not change, but grade B jadeite will fluoresce and appear whitish. C goods have been dyed, so their color is distributed along the cracks in an uneven manner, which can be seen with the naked eye if observed carefully.

4. There are differences in prices.
