Many players know that the color of jade is not just green, but also includes white, red, purple, etc. They will also look at the color purity of jade, but you don’t know that there are actually two colors of jade, that is, primary color and secondary color. The reasons for the formation of these two colors are also different. So how are they formed for different colors?

Green jade : The reason why jade is green is because of the chromium and iron inside it. The color formed by chromium is what we call primary color. Basically, the color is very bright, while the color formed by iron is a dark green, which is the secondary color.

White jade : White jade is also a common type of jade. We have seen it more or less in jade ornaments and jade accessories. Basically, it contains very few elements, at least those elements that change its color are very few, so it appears white.

Black jade : There is also another type of jade, which is black jade. This is because there are a lot of oxides inside the jade, or because some omphacite inside it causes the jade to be darker in color. Of course, some black jade is caused by the large amount of alkaline hornblende inside it.

Yellow jade : Yellow jade is very easy to understand. It is caused by limonite minerals. Jade of this color looks very elegant and very photogenic. The colors of the photos taken are also very beautiful.

Red jade : In addition to green jade, red jade is the most common one we see. Red jade contains a lot of hematite minerals. This substance will make jade appear in different degrees of red. The specific color of red depends on the content of hematite minerals.

Purple jade: The color of purple jade changes because of the iron and manganese elements it contains. Basically, the proportion of their content determines the depth of purple.
