1. Poor working environment

When engaged in jade carving, skill is of course the most important thing, but physical strength is also very important. It takes a lot of physical strength to cut a large piece of raw stone into shape.

When cutting materials, dust is everywhere and noise is deafening. But jade carvers have to work with this for a long time.

"What I fear most is winter." The processing process requires constant flushing with cold water, and even if it is freezing cold, you have to touch it with bare hands all day long.

Cold water is needed when carving, because the carving handle will generate heat when rotating at high speed. If no water is dripping, it will damage the jade, and it may even break, so cold water must be used to lower its temperature. You can imagine what it feels like for jade carvers to keep their hands in cold water for a long time in such cold weather. In fact, they are the ones who suffer the most and work the hardest.
