A shaped Da Ma Kan jade carving of Vajrapani Bodhisattva, the finished product is unexpectedly exquisite

We often say that jade used to carve human figures generally requires clean material and a pure base in order to carve beautiful human figure works. But if a jade lover wants to carve a figure using random-shaped and colorful Damakan jadeite, can the carving master do it?

As shown in the picture above, the Damakan yellow jadeite has a rich yellow fog layer on the surface and the gloss is very good after polishing. Jade lovers want to use it to carve pendants with distinctive character themes. We can see that the shape of jade is irregular and the color on the surface is messy, which is a big test for jade carving masters.

The carving master repeatedly compared the compositions of many Buddhist figures and referred to the image of Vajrapani Bodhisattva, and finally decided to carve the jade into Vajrapani Bodhisattva.

The most common form of Vajrapani Bodhisattva: one face, two arms and three eyes, wearing a five-pronged skull crown, red hair rising up, fiery eyebrows, fangs exposed, tongue curled, three red eyes wide open, very terrifying, the right hand is in the encouragement mudra, holding a vajra, the left hand is in the wrathful fist mudra, holding a vajra hook rope in front of the chest.

Vajrapani Bodhisattva gets his name from the vajra he holds in his hand. He belongs to the Vajra department and is the wrathful incarnation of Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva. Together with Guanyin, Manjushri and others, he is known as the "Three Clans of Venerables", and thus is called Vajrapani of Mighty Power. He possesses vast magical powers to eliminate evil and subdue demons.
