Jadeite. We all know that the best jadeite is A-grade jadeite, and B+C are both optimized jadeite. However, in the market, many consumers find it difficult to distinguish. Today, Guoshou Mineral Resources will talk specifically about the optimization treatment of jadeite. Jade optimization refers to the act of subjecting jade to various chemical or physical treatments to improve its appearance, color, transparency or strength and other characteristics in order to increase its commercial value and market competitiveness. Jade Optimization Jade optimization technologies include the following: 1. Color optimization, using chemicals and high-pressure and high-temperature technology to make the color of jade more vivid and uniform. 2. Fracture filling, using chemicals to fill the tiny cracks and defects inside jade to increase its transparency and gloss. 3. Vitrification optimization: heat the jade to a high temperature and rapidly cool it to form a glass-like film on its surface to increase its gloss and transparency. 4. Color corrosion optimization, using strong acid or other chemicals to treat the surface or interior of jade to make it present a specific color or texture. Methods for optimizing jadeite include waxing (surface wax dipping) treatment and heating treatment. (1) Purpose: To cover the tiny pits or cracks on the surface of the polished jade piece with wax to make the surface smoother and prevent stains from entering. Waxing is commonly known as "waxing" and can be divided into two methods: boiling wax and steaming wax. (2) Identification characteristics: Slight wax immersion treatment does not affect the luster and structure of jadeite, but is beneficial to maintaining the luster of the jadeite surface. When a heat source is close to it, the wax will melt and overflow. The wax-impregnated area may emit bluish-white fluorescence under ultraviolet fluorescent light. Heat treatment (1) Purpose: Natural red jadeite generally contains iron. Appropriate heat treatment can promote oxidation, transforming the yellow, brown, and brown colors of jadeite into bright red to obtain a more gorgeous appearance. Jade that has been heated is commonly known as "burned red" jade. (2) Identification characteristics: The origin of "burned red" jade is basically the same as that of natural red jade. The difference is that high temperature accelerates the process of converting limonite in burnt red jade into hematite. In terms of appearance, natural red jade is slightly more transparent while heat-treated red jade feels dry. The gemological properties of heat-treated jade are basically the same as those of natural jade, and it is not easy to identify by conventional methods. Jade processing The processing methods of jadeite include acid washing, bleaching, filling, dyeing and coating. Acid washing, bleaching and filling treatment. (1) Purpose: To remove the dirty colors (yellow, black, gray, etc.) in inferior jade, increase transparency, improve quality, cover up cracks, increase utilization rate, and improve sales appearance. Jadeite that has been treated in this way is commonly known as "B-grade jade". (2) The method is to first use acid washing to remove the undesirable colors in the jade, and then fill it with glue or resin. (3) Identification characteristics Conventional identification can be made by observing the gloss, color, and structure of the jadeite surface, combined with density, refractive index, fluorescence, magnification inspection, thermal reaction, and knocking reaction. For example, B-grade jadeite has rough pits or pits on the surface, a loose structure, and unnatural color. It exhibits a strong blue-white or yellow-green light under ultraviolet fluorescent light, and its refractive index and density both have the tendency to make sounds when struck. Inspection can be done using large instruments such as infrared spectrometers, ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometers and cathodoluminescence instruments. fruit fcpf99 feicuibbs1 fcgc60 |
