1. Observe the cotton inside the jade. 2. Observe whether the jade is sticky. Old types of jade will give people a sense of visual transparency, and at the same time it feels as if the flesh contains a gelatinous substance, and the gelatinous substance is evenly distributed and dissolved in the flesh, giving people a sense of solidity and connotation; while the new types are not obvious.

3. Observe the grayscale of jadeite. Usually, old jadeite with good water content will have a little gray color. If you come across old jadeite with good water content and no gray feeling at all, the price will definitely be very high. Of course, the price of jade is also related to the purchase price of the raw materials, the size of the finished product, the labor cost of carving, the quality of craftsmanship, etc.

4. Look at the fluorescence. Old jadeite with good water content sometimes gives off a soft and clear light emanating from the inside of the jadeite. This phenomenon rarely occurs in new types of jadeite.

The reason for buying old jade is not only because of its beauty, but also because the dense crystals can increase its toughness. The new jade has coarse crystals and low hardness. Therefore, when purchasing, old jade is given priority.
