Learn to distinguish between A, B, and C jadeite to avoid being cheated

A-grade jadeite
That is, natural jadeite has not undergone any artificial processing. It remains as it was dug out, with only the traditional and smooth surface waxing treatment.

Jadeite (B grade)
Low-priced jadeite with many cracks and relatively loose structures, such as grade 83, is pickled to remove impurities, and then the jadeite is glued together with epoxy resin or other artificial glue. The jadeite treated in this way is called B-grade jadeite.

Jadeite (C grade)
Regardless of whether it is filled with glue or not, and regardless of what processing methods are used, as long as the product is artificially dyed, we can call it C goods.
Pure C goods appear in the market relatively rarely, and the vast majority of them are basically B+C goods.

Jadeite (B+C)
Jadeite that is both filled with glue and dyed is called B+C goods.

Identification method
Grade A jade is naturally occurring and has not been artificially processed, so its texture is particularly dense.
First, identify it by visual perception. Observe carefully the surface of the jadeite with the naked eye.
Under normal circumstances, the surface luster of natural A-grade jade is very strong, showing a glassy luster. The impurities inside are unevenly distributed, and the color distribution is generally well-defined and uneven.

Secondly, identify it by feel. Jadeite is the densest type of jade among all jades. When you put a piece of jade in your hand, you will feel it is heavy.
If it is other types of jade, the feeling of falling will not be as strong as that of jadeite, and it will have a light and frivolous feeling.

Third, identify by hearing. Natural A-grade jade has a tight texture. If you put two pieces of natural A-grade jade together and knock them against each other, the sound is loud and crisp.
If it is replaced with B-grade jadeite, its sound will be dull and without tension.

You can also use professional methods to identify it. Natural A-grade jadeite will have some characteristics on the surface, such as orange peel, jadeite texture and so on.
When the cracks of natural A-grade jadeite are facing the light, it will block the light. The stronger the light, the more obvious the cracks will appear. It has a corresponding blocking effect on light.
If it is B-grade or B+C-grade jadeite, when it is exposed to light, the light will pass through the cracks and the cracks will disappear.

A layer of acid-etched mesh will appear on the surface of B goods and B+C goods.
What is acid etching reticulation? Because its structural characteristics are particularly loose, jade is full of cracks. When soaked in strong acid, spider-web-like textures will appear on the surface. This is the acid-etched network texture.

Another characteristic of B-grade and B+C-grade jadeite is the glue-filled pits. This is because naturally cracked things are bound to have gaps and cracks, and after these gaps are injected with glue, it can be seen with the naked eye that there is a glue-like substance inside.

It can also be identified by color. The color of A-grade jadeite is green and generally distributed in vein-like and strip-like shapes. Purple is generally distributed in granular form. Their distribution basically has clear boundaries and traces, and the color distribution is uneven.
As for B+C goods, no matter how beautiful the color is, it is completely artificially added color, so its color is generally clumpy, the boundary line is completely unclear, and the color is the same everywhere. When exposed to direct sunlight, the color will become lighter.
The color of B+C goods seeps into the gaps, so it appears to be stripes, like the color and shape of loofah sponge, instead of the vein-like distribution of natural jade.
