How to identify A-grade jadeite and B-grade jadeite?

Many merchants usually use B-grade jade to impersonate A-grade jade to deceive consumers. Here we will teach you some simple methods to identify A-grade jade and B-grade jade.

1. Luster: A-grade jade has a glassy luster, while all B-grade jade has an oily luster.

2. Color: All A-grade jadeite has a yellowish tint, while B-grade jadeite is pale as ink jade. The colored areas of A-grade jadeite are better than the non-colored areas, while the colored and non-colored areas of B-grade jadeite are the same.

3. Structure: A-grade jade is pure aluminum silicate with a compact structure, while B-grade jade is a mixture of ice and water.

4. Surface characteristics: The surface of A-grade jadeite has an orange peel effect, while the surface of B-grade jadeite has acid-etched mesh patterns, glue-filled pits, and the filled pits are connected by silk-like mesh patterns.

5. Density: The density of Grade A jade is 3.34, while the density of Grade B jade will not be 3.34.

6. Knocking: A-grade jadeite will make a crisp metallic impact sound when knocked, while B-grade jadeite will make a muffled sound (the sound will be muffled if the knocking method is wrong, the knocking object is different, or there are cracks inside the jadeite).

7. Thermal reaction: Using an electronic thermal probe, B-grade jadeite will emit a burning smell
