Generally speaking, the structure of icy-glutinous jade is dense and its density is relatively high. It feels heavy in the hand and is quite substantial, so it can be identified by weighing it. In terms of hardness, icy-glutinous jade is relatively high and can be identified by measuring its hardness. icy-glutinous jade dissipates heat quickly, has high hardness and density, and feels cool, smooth and oily to the touch. Genuine icy-glutinous jade will emit a crisp and pleasant melody when tapped lightly, while fake jade will emit a dull and muffled sound. Therefore, listening to the difference in sound is also a common method of identifying icy-glutinous jade.
