Floating blue flower jadeite occupies a large share of Burmese jadeite. It is widely used in carving various types of jadeite, especially floating blue flower bracelets. As a jadeite jewelry, it is very popular among people. In the jade market, the price of floating blue flower bracelets is moderate. There are mid- and low-end floating blue flower bracelets. The market price of general quality floating blue flower jade bracelets is not high, but the price of high-quality floating blue flower bracelets is very high. The formation of blue flowers is mainly divided into two types of minerals. The first is the sodium-rich alkaline hornblende and sodium-calcium hornblende minerals, and the second is the pyroxene minerals, mainly omphacite. When the blue flowers are brown and blue in hues, their mineral components are from the amphibole family. When the blue flowers are gray-green or blue-green in hues, their mineral components are from the pyroxene family.

The lower the Fe content in the blue flower mineral, the higher the Cr content, and the brighter the color of the blue flower. The amphibole minerals that form blue flowers belong to the sodium and sodium-calcium amphibole family minerals, which are typical minerals in high-pressure or ultra-high-pressure metamorphic geological conditions. Amphibole appears in jade in the form of porphyroblasts. The formation of amphibole minerals is later than that of jadeite. It is formed by fluid infiltrating into the contact zone between jadeite and the surrounding serpentinite under low temperature and high pressure conditions, resulting in replacement. The omphacite minerals that form blue flowers also appear in jade in the form of porphyroblasts, undergoing dynamic metamorphism together with matrix minerals such as jadeite, and the gaps between the grains are filled with fine veins of jadeite that have undergone lithification.

There are floating blue flowers inside the jade, distributed in the shape of veins, filaments, and grasses in the jade. The value of the floating blue flowers mainly depends on the brightness of the colors, whether the flower shapes are beautiful, whether the size and density of the flowers are appropriate, the relationship between the flowers and the base, the quality of the water, etc. The most important thing is that the floating blue flowers are lively, which not only makes the entire jade full of vitality and agility, but also increases the value of the entire jade.
