This is the true value ranking of the jade industry!

This is the true value ranking of the jade industry!

There is a saying in the jade industry: "One bracelet, two plaques, and three handles", which refers to the ranking of the value of jade articles: bracelets are the most valuable, followed by plaques, then handles, and finally pendants.

This sentence has been passed down to this day and is memorized by people, and they naturally believe that this is the value ranking in the jade industry!

The reason is that jade bracelets are very expensive. Jade bracelets with a slightly medium color can cost hundreds of thousands or even millions, sometimes even more!

However, the true value ranking in the jade industry is "one egg, two bracelets and three jade pendants"!

First-class jadeite - cabochon

Jade ring faces, also known as jade egg-shaped faces, look simple and small, but they are the most precious part of the entire jade. No matter the water head, color, or texture, they are the essence of jade. Problems like cracks, white cotton, black spots are very normal on flower pieces and bracelets, but they are considered defects on egg-shaped faces. Only the original stone must be without flaws and cracks to be made into jade egg-shaped faces. Jade egg-shaped faces are usually set into various jewelry such as jade rings, jade pendants, jade earrings, etc.

Generally speaking, bracelets are considered first, and making egg-shaped surfaces is often the last choice. A huge piece of raw stone often only produces a small ring face in the end, and the rest becomes waste.

Second-class jadeite – bracelet

Bracelets are the most expensive and most valuable jewelry besides egg-shaped jade. Bracelets of the same quality and color will be much more expensive than other jewelry. The reason is that the requirements for jade raw materials for jade bracelets are second only to egg-shaped jade. After the stone is opened and the material is cut, the first thing to consider is to make bracelets. Other jade jewelry is often made from the remaining materials of bracelets.

There are three requirements for raw materials for making jade bracelets:

1. The volume should be sufficient, at least the diameter should be larger than the diameter of the jade bracelet.

2. There are no cracks on the entire piece of jade raw material.

3. The jadeite bracelet must have color (mainly green, violet, jadeite, etc.) and water content. The color and water content requirements determine the value of the jadeite bracelet.

The style requirements for jade bracelets are extremely low, and there is nothing to cover up. The quality can be seen at a glance, which is very intuitive. It is not like jade jewelry such as pendants that can rely on carving to cover up jade flaws, so the material requirements are very high.

Third grade jadeite - bead necklace

Jade bead necklaces may seem to have low requirements for raw materials, but they actually place great pressure on the quality of the jadeite raw stones. To make a high-quality necklace, the jade raw material needs to meet the following conditions: no lines or cracks, uniform color, and sufficient raw material (preferably from the same piece of jade). And not all raw stones can be cut into a complete necklace.

For a jade necklace, the color and water quality of each bead must be almost consistent, there must be no obvious flaws, and cracks are not allowed to appear.

Jade bead necklaces not only require top-quality jade raw stones, but are also very consumable. At the same time, the process from material selection, cutting, bead suction to polishing requires very high technical costs. If you are not careful, the raw materials will be scrapped. The time cost, labor cost, and raw material cost are all very high.

Therefore, a high-quality jade necklace is absolutely rare and its value is self-evident.

Fourth grade jadeite - Guanyin, Buddha

In the original jade collection ranking, Guanyin and Buddha were ranked after bracelets, but from the current investment and collection trend, the collection level of jade Guanyin and Buddha should be ranked after necklaces. The material requirements for jade Guanyin and Buddha are not as stringent as those for pearl necklaces. The materials must be clean and elegant. Any flaws on the surface or poor appearance will seriously affect its value.

Good Guanyin and Buddha pendants should have well-proportioned shapes, kind and wise faces, flowing folds in clothes that give a sense of Wu Dai Dang Feng, soft and graceful postures, and delicate hair and tassels, giving people a sense of lofty spiritual strength.

Fifth grade jadeite: melon, bean, leaf and other jade pendants

The material selection and shaping requirements for jade pendants such as melons, beans, and leaves are relatively simple. The key to judging whether they have collection value lies in their water quality, texture, and lines.

Sixth Grade Jadeite - Ornaments

Although jade ornaments are the largest in size, they are the lowest in value among jade grades. Jadeite raw stones are generally of poor quality and have many cracks, so they cannot be used to carve the aforementioned types of accessories and are therefore used as ornaments.

But jade ornaments are unique. Their carvings are designed according to the overall jade and are impossible to replicate. Although they cannot compare with other types of jade in terms of quality, a jade ornament with exquisite and intricate craftsmanship is still quite collectible.

There are no two pieces of jade in the world that are exactly the same, just as there are no two leaves in the world that are exactly the same. Even if each piece of jade has the same shape, there are differences in color and quality. Collections can be big or small, and although they differ in collection and economic value, we should all respect the cultural value inherent in the collections.

Find a jadeite that meets your inner aesthetic needs and meets your own ability requirements, and don't blindly pursue its investment value, so as not to lose the purity of your love for jadeite and the meaning of collection itself.
