The most direct method to identify A-grade jadeite

The so-called A-grade jade is actually a common commercial name for natural jade. It refers to jade that has only been artificially polished and has not undergone any optimization treatment. It has purely natural color and texture.

It can be said that A-grade jade is the most popular jade on the market today, but because of this, there are many A-grade jade imitations on the market. Friends who have bought jade or have some knowledge of jade know that jade can be divided into A-grade, B-grade, C-grade, and B+C-grade. If it is all based on actual value, then it doesn't matter. But I am afraid that many people will sell B-grade jadeite at the price of A-grade jadeite. If we buy such jadeite, we will suffer a great loss as buyers.

Some unscrupulous merchants often sell inferior goods as good ones, deceiving consumers with fake and shoddy products in order to make huge profits. Some friends may say that the purchased jade box will come with an appraisal certificate, but the editor would like to warn everyone that for most citizens, due to limited professional knowledge, they are unable to make accurate judgments on the authenticity and quality of jewelry and jade, and the appraisal certificates in these jewelry and jade boxes have become the most trusted basis for consumers to purchase. However, driven by profit, the appraisal certificates that originally represented authority have gradually begun to change their "taste" and even become a means for illegal businesses to make profits, ultimately causing consumers to suffer losses.

At this time, you can't rely on anyone else and you can only learn by yourself, so today we are going to talk about the most direct method to identify A-grade jadeite to help everyone buy real A-grade jadeite.

Among all kinds of jade jewelry, jade bracelets have the largest output, use the most jade materials and have the highest value. Experienced jade carvers all know that when a piece of jade has no cracks, they must first strive to process it into a jade bracelet. It is precisely this high value that attracts many unscrupulous businesses to commit counterfeiting in order to make huge profits. A B+C grade bracelet worth a few hundred yuan was sold at a high price of hundreds of thousands. In order to prevent more consumers from suffering such a huge loss, the editor has prepared several useful methods for identifying the authenticity of jade bracelets and provided illustrations for everyone.

The first step of identification: distinguishing between jadeite and non-jadeite

Look at the jadeite texture: Jadeite texture is a unique characteristic of jadeite, which refers to the reflection of the cleavage surface of jadeite mineral that can be directly seen on the surface of jadeite, commonly known as "fly wings". Other materials that imitate jade do not have the jade properties.

It is worth noting that Afghan white jade also has star-shaped flashes, which is not called jadeite texture. You can use a small steel knife to scratch the two to distinguish them. The one that can be scratched is Afghan white jade, and the one that cannot be scratched is jadeite.

The second step of identification: Distinguishing between natural jadeite (A-grade jadeite) and processed jadeite (B-grade and B+C-grade jadeite)

1. Look at the gloss

B-grade jadeite appears foggy and has a weak luster. Grade A jade is clear and translucent with a strong luster.

2. Look at the surface texture

On the surface of B-grade jadeite, acid-etched patterns can be seen under reflected light (the low-hardness resin glue in the gaps between the mineral particles is polished to form concave grooves and fine lines that connect each crystal particle). On the surface of A-grade jadeite, orange peel effect can be seen (on the polished surface, when observed through reflected light, protrusions and depressions of different sizes and directions will appear).

3. Check the cleanliness of the interior (texture)

Natural A-grade jade contains a small amount of impurities, such as black spots, other dirty colors, and oxidized rust. B-grade jade is clean inside and generally does not have oxidized rust.

4. Look at the internal structure

B-grade jade has been washed with acid and alkali, and its internal structure is loose, while A-grade jade has a tight structure.

5. Look at the color

Natural A-grade jadeite has a dot or a line of slightly darker green, which gradually transitions to a relatively lighter green. The color is visible, the depth is inconsistent, the distribution is uneven, and the color boundaries are obvious. The color of dyed jade is diffuse and invisible, giving a feeling of floating on the surface. It is distributed in a silk screen pattern on the surface with blurred color boundaries and uniform tone.

Identification Step 3: Distinguishing between natural jadeite (A-grade jadeite) and polished jadeite

The color of the polished powder jade bracelet floats on the surface. Using a magnifying glass, you can see that these colors are composed of some tiny particles. The color is turbid, and the color is more concentrated in the pits. The color of the natural A-grade bracelet is all in the jade flesh, and the color is clearer. The color of natural A-grade bracelets is all in the jade flesh, while the color of polished jade bracelets floats on the surface
