In the Qing Dynasty, the best quality jade products were presented as tribute to the imperial court and used as decorations for official uniforms and as jewelry for the royal family. The inferior ornaments were circulated among the people. These ornaments are generally not suitable for current uses, so they are called "old ornaments."

From the Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, new crystal seeds continued to appear. The styles are constantly increasing, and they have gradually developed into ornaments that meet current needs, so they are called "fashion ornaments". "Old ornaments" include feather tubes, ban finger rings, hat crowns, cigarette holders, tobacco pots, tobacco pot covers, dragon hooks, belt hooks, court beads, court scepters, back clouds, Buddha heads, pagoda beads, clothing rings, fan pendants, watch poles, back bowls, bracelets, fan jade pots, cloud patterns, lock pieces, autumn leaves, three-ring buckles, double-ring buckles, ear hooks, ruyi, flat squares, pressed hair, hat characters, happiness characters, Eight Immortals, Buddha figures, various substitutes and various old large and small flower pieces, etc.

The "fashion ornaments" include egg-shaped ring faces, horse eyes, chicken hearts, apricots, ingots, ingot gallbladders, ear buckles, jade rings, saddle rings, round rings, pagoda bead necklaces, "five-color stars" (i.e., bracelet hearts in five colors: red, green, blue, and yellow), eight treasures (a piece of jade carving nailed to a child's hat symbolizing happiness, wealth, longevity, joy, and good fortune), "Nine Elders" (nine pieces of jade carvings of Buddha symbolizing longevity and wealth), and various flower pieces.

In recent years, Tengchong's jade carving has absorbed advanced experience from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other places, and has achieved great development and innovation. In addition to continuing to produce some of the "old ornaments" and "fashion ornaments" needed by the society, it has also produced some large-scale ornaments, such as the "Jade Bottle" carved by a combination of new and old artists. It is 18cm high and 7cm in outer diameter, with a novel and elegant shape. There are three pairs of chain buckles on the bottle, and the little lion on the bottle cap is lifelike.

Other products include "Emerald Pegasus", "Ancient Bottle Beast Shop", "Daiyu Burying Flowers", "Peacock Playing with Peony", "Dai Girl Sowing in Spring", "Heavenly Girl Scattering Flowers", "Dragon, Phoenix and Stars", etc., all of which have reached a high level of craftsmanship.

The jade carving masterpieces "Ancient Bottle Beast Shop" and "Dai Girl Sowing in Spring" were sent to Beijing for exhibition in 1978. There are more than 100 varieties of Tengchong jadeware, which are divided into four categories: ornaments, daily necessities, ethnic minority items, and handicrafts.

Daily necessities such as buttons, hat beads, cigarette holders, stamps, wine glasses, corsages, hat caps, etc.;

Ethnic products include bracelets, hairpins, and pins that are popular among ethnic minorities. Of course, they are also decorations and handicrafts.

Small items such as ring faces, round gallbladders, chicken hearts, flower pieces, dots, lanterns, goldfish, and large handicrafts such as blue lions, white elephants, turtle jars, elephant jars, golden roosters facing the sun, and parrots playing with orchids produced in Tengchong have been welcomed by customers from all over the country. Merchants from Hong Kong and Macao are also rushing to buy them. They have been well received and earned foreign exchange for the country.
