After carefully observing and analyzing the characteristics and texture of the jade, the jade carver got a good idea. He used the white cotton on the jade to cleverly carve an animal ornament. Finally, he decided to make a "Crocodile" pendulum: the jade has a green base with a bluish tint, few cracks throughout the body, and the jade is delicate and moist. This part only needs simple trimming to maintain the original stone shape as the bottom of the pendulum; the crocodile is designed at the top where there is more white cotton, and the excess cotton outside the subject matter is removed, so that the whole crocodile lies on it, making the pendulum three-dimensional and vivid.

It does not require drawing detailed design drawings on the jade material. The rough draft is a casting of the crocodile's expression, while the fine carving is a whitewash of the crocodile's image.
