Water head : The size of jade crystal particles and the compactness of its structure determine the transparency of jade, which is the water head of jade. The water head of black jade also needs to be considered, that is, its transparency. Jade with high transparency can transmit light under strong light, and the more transparent the better, and the black jade will also look relatively lustrous and bright. Jade with poor transparency may even be opaque and strong light cannot transmit through it.

Color : At first glance, black jade appears to be pitch black, and the color seems indistinguishable, but in fact, even if it is black, there are different degrees of black. When observed under natural light, the color of the surface of the black jade should be as dark as possible. Under strong light, it should appear dark green or dark blue-green, and the color should be evenly distributed without white or other colored cotton patches.

Black jadeite with weak surface gloss, coarse crystal grains, loose structure, a lot of white cotton or concentrated white cotton, irregular green translucency, too dark or too light color, and obvious flaws are poor quality black jadeite, and the price will not be high, generally around a few hundred to a thousand yuan.
