How to identify A, B and C grade jadeite? Don't be fooled after reading this

The harm caused by fake jade is very serious! Don't carry it with you! The types of fake jadeite are as follows: B-grade jadeite, C-grade jadeite soaked in strong acid, and dyed jadeite.

Before identification, let’s first take a look at what A, B, and C goods are.

1. What are A, B, and C jadeite?

Grade A jade is pure natural jade whose internal structure has not been processed by humans in any way.

The bleaching and filling treatment of B-grade jadeite is mainly to remove impurities that affect the color and transparency of the jadeite, fill and cover up the cracks in the jadeite to reduce the brittleness of the jadeite in order to increase the beauty of the jadeite.

2. Common identification misunderstandings

Destructive testing is not advisable. Scratching jade with a knife, heating it with a lighter to see how fast the jade dissipates heat, knocking it and listening to the sound, all of these identification experiences may cause damage to the jade. No one wants to see the jade being damaged, whether it is jade that has been purchased or is about to be purchased.

Too professional identification methods require accumulated experience. Looking at the gloss, fly wing glint, color, and even density, these are too far away from us (the key is that they are difficult to learn). It takes years of experience to be able to tell the authenticity of something at a glance from these aspects. Jade lovers also want to distinguish the real from the fake at a glance. The revolution has not yet succeeded, and we still need to work hard.

3. It should be identified in this way

When buying jadeite, make sure to make sure it’s genuine! Not all A-grade products are worth buying! Be cautious with jadeite that is pure natural but has a dark green appearance and extremely coarse grains inside, because it cannot make you more beautiful, and is not worth investing in.

Fake jadeite is appearing in endlessly, and some even require large instruments to identify. The easiest, most direct and most reliable way to identify A-grade jadeite is to look at the certificate! It is best to have a national inspection certificate!

B-goods are all tricks

alert! B-grade jadeite is the biggest enemy in selection! It looks like it has great transparency and water head, but it's all an illusion! Their true appearance is covered with gray-brown spots containing unwanted impurities, but after a series of plastic surgeries they have been transformed into a new look. After the filling glue ages, the color, transparency and gloss of the jade will suddenly take a sharp turn for the worse.

After bleaching, B-grade jadeite will not have any brown parts, and the retained green, purple and black will also lack yellow tones. The parts where green and white alternate will appear in extremely strong contrast. The luster will also be much dimmer than that of A-grade jadeite, and you can even clearly feel the waxy glass luster of the gel. If you have doubts about your eyes and feelings, you can also observe it with a 10x magnifying glass. If there are continuous network acid etching marks on the surface, you must be cautious.

All dyed jadeite is classified as C-grade!

The biggest feature is that the colors are exaggerated and unnatural! Nowadays, old mine glass-type full-green jadeite can cost hundreds of millions or even tens of millions. If you really see a full-green glass-type jadeite worth tens of thousands, you'd better make an appraisal before making any payment. If you look through a 10x magnifying glass, notice if there is any color buildup in the internal gaps? Observe through light and see if it is dark on the outside and light on the inside? Is it extremely uniform with no color roots? If you encounter jadeite with several alternating colors, you should also observe whether the boundaries between the colors are clear. If there is an unclear blurry feeling, you should highly suspect that it is a C-grade jadeite.

Nowadays, jade counterfeiting technology is almost "comparable" to scientific and technological progress, and some things really cannot be judged by experience alone. Therefore, beginners or friends who are not very experienced need to be cautious when starting out.
