1. Look at the jadeite properties: When jadeite is exposed to light, the cleavage surfaces of the grains that make up the jadeite crystals reflect light. The bright white reflections look like those of fly wings, so they are also called "fly wings". "Fly wings" often appear in long strips or irregular flakes, and are easier to observe in unpolished or coarsely structured jade. The picture shows the A-grade jade before acid washing, and the emerald texture can be seen. After pickling, there is no emerald "fly wing" effect. 2. Look at the "orange peel effect": On the polished surface of A-grade jadeite, through reflection observation, there will be bumps and depressions of different sizes and directions similar to orange peel, which is called the "orange peel effect" by insiders. B and C grade jadeite have acid etching marks caused by strong acid and alkali erosion, just like dry earth. As shown in the picture, the left side is the orange peel effect of A-grade jadeite, and the right side is the acid etching mark of B-grade jadeite. The left side shows the orange peel effect, and the right side shows the acid etching pattern. 3. Look at the luster: B and C grade jadeite have been processed, so their structure is looser and the luster is darker, generally waxy or resinous. The picture shows a B-grade bracelet, which is dull and weak. Grade A jadeite generally has a strong glassy luster, good rigidity, and a strong sense of moisture. 4. Look at the structure: The structure of B and C grade jadeite is very transparent and loose, and the boundaries between crystal grains are blurred, giving it a foggy and unreal look. The outlines of A-grade jade particles are very clear, they are tightly combined and have a solid texture. The "flocculation" inside is in the form of long strips that are intertwined with each other, and some can even show the outlines of jadeite minerals. It gives people a sense of solid structure, calmness and strength. 5. Look at the color: The color of C-grade jadeite is dull and usually floats on the surface. The transition between colored and colorless areas is unnatural, and the color seems floating. Moreover, the color of C goods will extend along the loose structure (or cracks), and will be enriched in the gaps and cracks. Generally speaking, the base color of jadeite that has been acid-washed is very white and clean, without any impurities. The color of A-grade jadeite is natural and vivid, distributed in the shape of tree roots or flakes. You can see how the color is distributed and where it goes, which experts call it color root. Of course, there is also an authoritative and quick method: send it to the quality inspection station to issue a certificate. This method is the safest. As long as they have certifications such as CMA (China Metrology Certification), CAL (Quality Supervision and Inspection Body Certification), CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment), etc., and the corresponding appraisal reports can be found on regular websites, they are all regular testing agencies with no problems. It should be noted that all appraisal agencies only issue appraisal certificates, that is, they only appraise and do not conduct valuation. fcgc66 fcpf18 |
