The overall collection value of jadeite in the market today is higher than that of other jades, and the price of high-end jadeite is several times higher than that of gold. Therefore, in order to earn high profits, many merchants have used various counterfeiting methods to change the appearance of jade. Some use certain counterfeiting methods to make low-grade jade appear high-end, and some directly use other substances to counterfeit jade. However, these methods are difficult to evade detection by identification instruments. However, recently a new counterfeiting method has emerged that can even deceive identification instruments. In the past, there was a type of jadeite produced by counterfeiting methods called "yin-yang face" jadeite. If it was taken to an appraisal agency for appraisal, it could be issued a grade A certificate. This type of jadeite, part of which is top-grade material, and the other part is dyed and injected with glue. The instruments used by the appraisal agencies can identify the natural jadeite part, so it is easier to have an A-grade certificate without finding out that it is dyed or injected with glue. But if some chromatography instruments are used to detect it, it will be found that there is something wrong with its color spectrum. If very experienced jadeite experts observe the surface of the jadeite carefully, they can also find the trick. Generally, they will find that there is an unnatural transition of color and gloss in the center, and the jadeite filled with glue does not have the watery and translucent appearance of natural jadeite. With the advancement of technology today, the "yin-yang face" jade produced by this counterfeiting method has long been outdated. Now a new counterfeiting method has emerged that can even deceive identification instruments. This counterfeiting method is neither sophisticated nor unsophisticated. It is just a patchwork technique: jade is made by patchwork of colorless jade and full green jade. According to Jade Encyclopedia, this counterfeiting method is mostly used on full-green jade egg-shaped rings. We all know that the high-quality jade egg-shaped surfaces that can be made into full green and sold are mostly of high-quality water quality, rich and pure color, and high thickness. Only in this way can they show their crystal clearness, moisture and agility. Generally, the prices of such jade egg-shaped surfaces in the market are very high, and some can reach more than 1 million. When the quality inspectors used infrared spectrometers, microscopes and other instruments to test the jade egg-shaped surface made of colorless jade and full green jade, they did not find any abnormalities. However, if the quality inspectors are more careful when looking at the jade egg-shaped surface from the side through light, they can see some clues, that is, the color is lighter than when viewed from the front. After disassembling the egg-shaped ring, it can be found that the full green is actually an illusion. When shining light from the side, a bright circle can be found around the jade egg-shaped ring. The bright circle is the light emitted by colorless jadeite, so quality inspectors can conclude that it is made up of two types of jadeite. It is conceivable that the new counterfeiting method used in the jade egg-shaped face worth 1 million yuan is just a patchwork technique, and this kind of counterfeiting method can even deceive instruments. If it is not for the careful observation of professionals, it is difficult to find any clues.
